Aniimo Co-op Guide: Parties, Servers and What Guests Keep
Aniimo co-op caps at four players per server, with shared chests and weather borrowing. Here is how parties work and the host-progress rule to know first.
Aniimo has real online co-op — but it is not an MMO. Everything runs on invitations, hosted worlds, and one server rule that trips up every new group.
Unlocking co-op
Co-op unlocks after you defeat Alpha Turbo in the main story and pass the assessment that follows. Passing it promotes you to I Student, which opens Friends in the Function Menu. Fully playable solo; co-op is optional.
Setting up a party
- Open Friends from the Function Menu (or the Squad tab for a Party invite).
- Search by nickname or UID and send a friend request; in Astra or at an Outpost you can friend nearby players from their profile.
- Use Come to Me (the icon on the far right of a friend’s row) to pull them into your world.
- Parties cap at four players including the host.
Two modes matter: Companion Mode for open-world exploring, and Team Up for Sanctums and boss fights, where whoever starts it becomes Team Leader.
The server rule
Aniimo has three servers — Aniimo-America, Aniimo-Europe and Aniimo-Apac — and everyone in a party must be on the same one. Crossplay works across PC, PS5, Xbox and mobile, and cross-save runs through one Aniimo Pass account (same email, same server) — but progress never moves between servers. Agree on a server before anyone creates a character.
What guests keep — and what they do not
- The guest keeps catches and items. Anything you personally gain goes home with you.
- The host keeps the world. Quest progress, activated Blooms, exploration and teleport points save only in the host’s world — you will redo them in your own.
- Main story quests are single-player only — plan co-op around exploration, catches, Alphas and puzzles.
Why co-op is worth it
- Shared chests. When one player opens a chest, nearby party members who have not opened it yet get rewarded too, including Sanctum chests.
- Weather borrowing. Every world rolls its own weather. If a friend’s Beast Fang Ridge is in a thunderstorm, joining them is a free shot at Thunderstorm Form Scorchhowl. Mechanics in Weather and Phenomena.
- Combo Explosion. Parties of three or four get a high-damage combo against stunned enemies — a third player is a real damage upgrade over a duo.
- Homeland help. Till soil at a friend’s Homeland for a share of the harvest, or pet an egg in their Hatchinator to shave incubation time. Details in the Homeland guide.
- Holo-Battle Interlink. The weekly co-op boss mode unlocks at the Trailblazer I title and runs Thursday 04:00 to Monday 03:59 server time, with teams of four or AI fill-ins.
Social layer
Astra, Outposts, campfires and RV Parks are the public hubs where you see other players — duel, trade, chat and hatch eggs there, with automatic voice-to-text translation as of the 1.1 update. Trading requires Good Friend affinity, built through dailies, gifts and home visits across six levels.
