Exiled Survivors: Frost Dragon Boss Guide (Mountain)

The Frost Dragon guards the Mountain in Exiled Survivors. Why the escort is the real fight, and the build that handles adds and the boss at once.

The Frost Dragon is the wall of the Mountain, and it is not really a duel. It is an escort fight: the Dragonborn and its heroes keep coming, and the dragon punishes you for ignoring them. Tunnel the boss and the adds bury you; clear adds forever and the dragon out-races your clock.

The framework

The fight has two fronts, and you have to work both:

  • The escort. Adds keep spawning through the encounter. They are not a distraction — they are the mechanic. Your clear speed decides how much floor you have.
  • The dragon. Heavy single-target health, with frost pressure that slows and zones. Every second you spend slowed is a second the next attack has to land.

Zone placement for the dragon varies by stretch — not fully documented — check in-game. The stage bosses guide covers escort behaviours in detail.

Positioning

  • Move in wide circles. Frost slows plus escort projectiles is the combination that kills predictable paths. Vary your loop radius.
  • Burst the dragon between add waves. When the spawns thin out, commit hard to the boss. When they thicken, clear to reopen your lanes.
  • Never stand in frost zones. A slowed player cannot walk out of the next attack — that is the whole difficulty model of this fight.

Build priorities

  • AoE plus one single-target skill. Neither alone wins this fight. Clear the escort, kill the dragon.
  • Movement Focus. The Focus passives guide covers the tiers; this fight is where they earn their slot.
  • Frost Focus for your own output if you race with the same element — see the damage types guide.
  • Sustain for the long middle; healing relics outperform a fifth damage source here.

Common wipe causes

  • Tunneling the dragon. The classic loss. Adds pile up, your floor disappears, and the frost zones finish what the escort started.
  • Ignoring the dragon too long. The other classic loss. Clear forever, deal no boss damage, run out of clock.
  • Low movement investment. Slows turn every escort projectile into a hit.
  • Ground-only coverage. Flying escorts whiff builds that cannot hit air.

The one thing to remember

The Frost Dragon is a priority-management exam. Ask one question every few seconds — adds or boss? — and the answer is whichever one is about to take your floor away. Beat it reliably and the Volcano is next; build direction is in the build compendium.
