Exiled Survivors Wizard Guide: Pure Caster Build
How the Wizard plays in Exiled Survivors — the generalist magic caster, with skill combos, Focus passive priorities, and build direction.
Wizard is one of the 24 characters confirmed in Exiled Survivors’ data — the classic magic baseline of the roster. The exact starting skills, stat growth and unlock condition are not fully documented — check in-game, so treat this guide as inference from the name plus the game’s confirmed systems.
What the name tells you (inference)
Wizard sits in the caster group — Arcanist, Sorcerer, Elementalist, BattleMage, JackOfAllTrades. The read: pure ranged magic with no melee layer and no single-element commitment, the generalist spellcaster. That is inference from naming and genre convention, not a documented stat sheet.
Damage direction
Arcane first — one of the eight confirmed tags (Fire, Frost, Lightning, Nature, Poison, Bleeding, Curse, Arcane) and the natural flavor for the name. The Arcane skill family exists as its own line, and the Orb and Beam families cover mid-range delivery. Tag trade-offs are in the damage types guide.
Core skill combo
- Automatic core: an Arcane-family skill as the backbone, with an Orb or Beam skill for coverage. Beams are the reliable line; orbs give you patterns that hit differently.
- Energy skill: an energy Nova, Burst or Shockwave — player-centered panic buttons for the moment the horde touches you.
- Focus passives: stack the tiers that match your chosen family, +/++/+++. Three tiers on your main line beats five unrelated picks — the focus passives guide explains why.
Build direction
- One family, committed by the fifth offer. The offer pool rewards focus.
- One movement or defensive pick — casters die to contact.
- Novas only as buttons, never as mains; they only work when the horde is on top of you.
- Gear: magic damage and area. Stat weights are not fully documented — check in-game.
Beginner-friendly?
Yes — easier than Elementalist or BattleMage because there is one damage layer and no element split to manage. Harder than Ranger only because positioning matters more.
How it differs
Arcanist reads as the arcane specialist; Wizard reads as the generalist caster. Elementalist spans all four elemental tags. BattleMage brings the whole thing into melee range. Wizard is the clean baseline — the one to learn the magic side of the game on. Roster context in the best characters guide.
