Battlefield 6 Best Weapons: Tier List by Class (Season 5)
The strongest Battlefield 6 weapon per class, current for Season 5 (Siege of Vegas): KORD 6P67, SGX, KTS100 MK8, M2010 ESR, SVDM — plus the four new Season 5 guns and what they're good at.
Weapon metas shift with every patch, and Season 5 added four new guns that haven’t fully settled yet. This list reflects what has proven out across Seasons 4 and 5 from live play and community tier analysis — treat the new weapons as “promising, test yourself” until the numbers settle.
Assault — mid-range rifles that win the common fights
| Tier | Weapon | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | KORD 6P67 | Low recoil, high rate of fire, dependable across several ranges. The safest all-purpose pick. |
| A | NVO-228E | Reliable, low recoil, fast enough to push with. The go-to for most players. |
| A | M16A4 | Controlled medium-range bursts; safest established baseline. |
| B | M4A1 | Mobile carbine — flexible fallback when nothing else fits. |
| B | EF88 | Built for medium-to-long range (20–75m). |
| B | VCR 2 | Close-range rifle for aggressive play. |
Assault rule of thumb: the KORD 6P67 and NVO-228E win the mid-range fights that decide most objective pushes. Reach for the VCR 2 only when you’re deliberately playing inside buildings.
Engineer — close-quarters plus anti-vehicle
| Tier | Weapon | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | SGX | Built for close range; best inside buildings and after boat pushes onto objectives. |
| A | PW7A2 | Fastest time-to-kill in its class; pairs with a ranged attachment set for Engineers who fight farther out. |
| B | KV9 / CZ3A1 | Fast-firing SMGs for aggressive indoor play — demand careful ammo management. |
| B | M87A1 (slug) | Pump-action with slug rounds one-shots to the chest out to ~15 meters. The dominant CQB wildcard. |
Engineers still carry the squad’s anti-vehicle responsibility — RPG-7V2, anti-vehicle mines and grenades — on vehicle-heavy maps like Area 51.
Support — sustained fire and area denial
| Tier | Weapon | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | KTS100 MK8 | Low recoil, steady rate of fire, consistent accuracy. The strongest all-around Support weapon for holding objectives and doorways. |
| A | RPK 74M | Lighter alternative, controllable recoil, dependable damage. |
| A | M250 | Extra ranged power when you’re holding long approaches. |
| B | DRS IAR | Handles like an assault rifle — adapt it through attachments. |
| B | M123K | Fast-firing LMG for aggressive close-range engagements. |
Support’s job is controlling space, not topping the scoreboard. If you’re chasing 1v1s, you’re on the wrong class.
Recon — bolt-actions for deliberate fights, DMRs for mobile ones
| Tier | Weapon | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | M2010 ESR | The most dependable bolt-action: accuracy, simple handling, strong across extended sightlines. |
| A | PSR | Lethality in a 90–120 meter sweet spot — build your position around that band or you’re giving up kills. |
| A | SVDM | Best general-purpose DMR: accurate fire without bolt-action pacing. |
| A | SV-98 | Magnum option, especially effective ~45–90 meters. |
| B | VSSM | Suppressed DMR with full-auto — stealth play closer to objectives, not a sniper replacement. |
| B | Mini Scout | Less damage, faster follow-ups — for mobile Recon. |
The four new Season 5 weapons
- Mk 24 — assault rifle that gets deadlier at longer ranges, balanced by a limited magazine. Strong candidate for Assault players who hold mid-range lanes.
- RSPR — PDW with strong stopping power and better range than most PDWs, but substantial recoil. Engineer flanking tool.
- Z84M — belt-fed 100-round LMG, effective at close range with a wide attachment selection. Support players who want to hold buildings.
- ELR-40 — bolt-action sniper; standard config favors very long range, single-shot mode shifts the sweet spot shorter. Recon’s new option for closer sightlines than the M2010 ESR.
These four arrived October 13 and community tier positions are still forming — if you main one of these classes, test the new gun in Portal or casual before committing your attachment unlocks.
Attachment priorities (same for every class)
- Recoil control first — compensator + vertical grip. A gun you can keep on target beats a higher-damage gun you can’t.
- Optic for your actual engagement range — 1.75× for objective pushes, 3× for holding approaches, high-zoom only if you genuinely hold long sightlines.
- Magazine size last — extended mags are nice; reload discipline is free.
- Ammo choice matters on cover-heavy maps: FMJ trades nothing you’ll miss on Vegas Strip and Area 51; specialized rounds (Hollow Point, Synthetic Tip) carry a penetration cost that hurts on wall-dense maps.
The honest caveat
Weapon balance in BF6 has moved with every season, and tier lists from random sites are often stale or invented — some still list guns that don’t exist in this game. Master the S-tier pick for your class, learn its recoil pattern, and only then experiment. A fully-leveled A-tier weapon beats a half-built S-tier one every time.
For the class gadgets and roles around these guns, see the beginner guide; for turning them into wins at 128 players, the settings guide is the other half of the equation.
