THE FINALS Boom Brawl Guide (Season 12)
Boom Brawl is the most chaotic of Solo Showdown’s eight mini-modes, and it’s the one that teaches you the most about THE FINALS’ movement. Everyone gets the same loadout: a sword-wielding Light with a dash. Eliminate someone and they leave a throwable bomb behind. That’s it. That’s the mode. Here’s how to actually win it.
The rules, quickly
- Everyone is a Light with a Sword and a Dash.
- Eliminated contestants drop a throwable bomb where they fall.
- You score by eliminating opponents — and in Solo Showdown the bottom four of the round are eliminated, so frags are survival.
- The mode is currently in beta, so expect the details to shift — treat this as direction, not gospel.
It’s a bomb mode, not a sword mode
The counterintuitive truth about Boom Brawl: the bombs decide fights, not the sword. Everyone has a sword, so sword duels are a coin flip. The player who picks up a bomb and uses it well decides who lives. Treat every corpse as a supply drop.
- Don’t throw your bomb immediately. Hold it until you have a target or a trap idea.
- Bait the pickup. Drop near a corner, back off, and punish whoever dives for it.
- Two bombs is a strategy. If you’re already holding one and there’s a fresh corpse nearby, consider making another.
Movement wins
- Dash is your swing. Dash through your target, swing mid-dash, and swing again as you pass. Straight-line players get deleted.
- Never stand still next to a corpse. The most common death in Boom Brawl is standing over the body you just made when someone’s bomb lands.
- Use height. Arcs and rooftops are everything — bomb throws and sword swings both favor the high ground.
- Disengage deliberately. It’s a free-for-all; a 1v1 that turns into a 1v3 is a disaster. Hit, reposition, re-enter.
Reading the room
- Early round: play mid-aggressive. Score points, learn who’s strong, and don’t duel the leader early unless the bomb economy favors you.
- Late round: the scoreboard tightens. Now survival and smart picks matter more than hero swings — hold a bomb, wait for the third party.
- Watch the bomb hoarders. Someone sitting on two bombs with good positioning is the round’s boss. You can’t coordinate against them, so flank them.
Bottom line
Boom Brawl rewards movement discipline and bomb economy over raw sword aim. Dash constantly, treat corpses as ammo, and never stand next to one. For the full mode context, the Solo Showdown guide covers the tournament format, and the modes guide has the rest of the Season 12 playlist.
