THE FINALS Fangwai City Map Guide (Season 12)

Fangwai City is the spectacle arena — elevated walkways, packed apartment blocks, riverfront views and towers stacked on top of each other. There are a thousand angles here and most of them are lethal. Here’s how to not die in all of them.

Reading the layout

  • Elevated walkways: The map’s signature. These are your highways — fast rotation, high ground, and constant exposure to anyone shooting from the towers. Run them in bursts, not straight lines.
  • Apartment blocks: Dense interiors, repetitive layouts, brutal close-range fights. Once you learn one building’s floor plan you’ve learned most of them, which makes pre-firing doorways genuinely effective.
  • Riverfront: Open lanes along the water with long sightlines. This is where snipers and marksman rifles get to breathe. Cross it with utility or don’t cross it at all.
  • Gardens: Green pockets of cover between the concrete. Useful mid-fight anchors, but they’re surrounded by buildings, so you’re rarely alone for long.
  • Towers: The high ground everyone wants. Control one tower and you control a huge slice of the map; lose one and you spend the match getting shot from above.

Cashout rotations

Fangwai’s stations spread across the dense core, and the walkways make “distance” misleading — the fastest route to a station is often straight through a building’s second floor. Rules that hold up:

  • Pick your lane before the vault drops. Committing to ground routes when the enemy owns the walkways is how games fall apart.
  • When carrying the box, mix levels. Go up a walkway, cut through an apartment, drop to the riverfront for a stretch, come back up. Predictable carries get intercepted.

Vertical opportunities

Three levels of play here: streets, walkways, rooftops. The best players use all three in a single rotation — drop off a walkway into an apartment window, exit at ground level behind the enemy push. Season 12’s gradual destruction adds a wrinkle: damaged floors sag and partially collapse instead of disappearing, opening brand-new mid-fight routes between levels. A hole in the floor isn’t just cover loss anymore — it can be your next flank.

Build fit

  • Light: Built for this map. The walkway network plus Grappling Hook or Evasive Dash gives you angles nobody checks. XP-54 or an LH1 to punish riverfront exposes.
  • Medium: The all-rounder pick. Jump Pad moves the squad between levels instantly, and a Healing Beam keeps apartment brawls winnable. FCAR and AKM both handle Fangwai’s mixed ranges.
  • Heavy: Value depends on the fight. Anchoring a station inside a wide apartment or tower floor is great; trying to brawl on the narrow walkways is not. Bring Goo or Dome Shield and hold the interiors, not the highways.

Season 12 notes

Destruction changes how Fangwai’s towers behave — expect sagging floors, swinging debris and Blast Waves from RPGs and C4 reshaping interiors mid-fight. Footstep audio was also rebuilt this season, and on a map with this many stacked floors, sound is your early-warning system for whoever’s above you. Headphones are close to mandatory. See the destruction guide and best settings guide for more.

Fangwai rewards map knowledge more than aim. Compare its flow with Seoul for the interior-heavy style, and check Solo Showdown if you’re queuing alone this season.
