THE FINALS SYS$HORIZON Map Guide (Season 12)
THE FINALS SYS$HORIZON guide: how to fight in the glitched loading-realm arena, voxel bridge routes, cashout spots and build picks for Season 12.
THE FINALS SYS$HORIZON Map Guide (Season 12)
SYS$HORIZON isn’t a place. It’s a loading screen that gained sentience. A glitchy, neon-drenched cityscape that’s only partially loaded — floating geometry, voxel bridges, sections that look like they were pasted in from a different game. It’s in the Cashout rotation, it’s also a bot-match map, and it plays by its own rules.
How it plays
- Expect the unexpected. Layouts don’t follow real-world logic. A “street” can dead-end into nothing. A “building” can be a shell. Routes you’d swear exist on Seoul simply aren’t here — and routes that make no sense absolutely are.
- Voxel bridges: Blocky, glitchy walkways connect areas at odd heights. They’re fast, they’re exposed, and they’re often the only way between zones. Learn them or spend every match walking the long way.
- Night mode glow: In the night variant the whole arena radiates under a neon sun. Looks great, plays weird — silhouettes and glow can hide enemy outlines at range, so trust your minimap and audio over your eyes.
Cashout rotations
Vaults and stations spawn across the broken skyline, and the map’s nonsense geometry actually works in your favor:
- Plan routes around the voxel bridges, not the streets. The bridges cut travel time dramatically, and they’re the reason good teams rotate twice while average teams are still running.
- When carrying, stay off the main bridges late in the round — they’re chokepoints and smart defenders know it. Drop to the lower broken sections where the geometry gives you natural cover.
- The map’s “partially loaded” nature means there are fewer predictable doors to camp. Defenders here hold angles and bridges, not buildings.
Vertical opportunities
SYS$HORIZON stacks its playspaces at strange heights, and vertical movement is the meta. Grappling Hook, Evasive Dash, Jump Pads — anything that gets you off the ground level turns the map’s weird geometry into private property. The floating chunks also mean you can occasionally get above positions that feel safe, then drop in from a direction defenders never considered.
One Season 12 twist: with gradual destruction, the pieces that do break now sag, hinge and swing instead of just vanishing, so a “broken” area can keep changing shape during a fight.
Build fit
- Light: Perfect fit. The map rewards mobility, flanking and quick exits, and the voxel network gives a Light more angles than any other arena.
- Medium: Solid pick. Jump Pad exploits the height differences, and Healing Beam keeps the bridge-crossing brawls alive.
- Heavy: Playable but awkward. You’re too slow for the bridge highway game. Anchor a station or a bridge exit with Goo and Barricades, and let the enemy come to you — chasing Lights through glitched geometry is a losing proposition.
Season 12 notes
SYS$HORIZON also shows up in Cashout (Bots) matches, so new players often meet the map there first. The destruction overhaul applies here like everywhere else — debris piles form new cover, smoke and gas behave around geometry instead of through it. For the full picture, the season 12 changes rundown covers it.
