THE FINALS Season 12 mode overview: Cashout, Ranked Cashout, Quick Cash, Solo Showdown, Point Break — rules, respawns and how each mode plays.
THE FINALS Game Modes Guide (Season 12)
THE FINALS throws a lot of playlists at you, and they all play differently. Queue into Ranked with a Quick Cash mindset and you’ll bleed rating. Here’s what each mode actually is as of Season 12.
Cashout Tournament
Four teams of three, multiple rounds, one goal: get cash, bank it, qualify.
- Format: Two knockout rounds plus a final. Top two teams advance; the final is first to $50,000.
- Rounds: Season 12 stretched regular rounds to 9.5 minutes and cut the final to 14 minutes, so the endgame is tighter.
- Vaults: Spawn fast now — the open timer dropped from 20 seconds to 10, and vaults are worth roughly $10,000 to $22,000.
- Respawns: Limited. You start with 2 respawn credits and gain one at the start of each new round. Run out and you’re waiting on revives or a team wipe.
Ranked Cashout
Same tournament format, higher stakes, stricter rules.
- No in-round build swaps from your reserve. Pick your composition before the round starts — if you’re getting hard-countered mid-round, you’re stuck with it until the round ends.
- Team wipe costs 15% of your total cash. If you’re ahead, play scared. Chasing one kill and eating a wipe can erase a $20,000 lead.
- Respawn credits are limited the same way as casual, so revives matter even more.
Full tournament rules and ladder advice live in the Ranked Cashout guide.
Quick Cash
Three teams of three, one round, pure action.
- Goal: First team to $20,000 wins — vaults are worth a fixed $10,000.
- Respawns are unlimited and wave-based (roughly 7 to 30 seconds depending on when you died), and you can fully change your loadout during the respawn wait. Way more aggressive than Cashout — dying costs you seconds, not a round.
Solo Showdown (beta)
Season 12’s new solo tournament, and it’s completely different from everything else.
- 12 solo players, three rounds. After each round, the four contestants with the least cash are eliminated. Most cash at the end wins.
- Eight rotating mini-modes: Boom Brawl, Slam-a-Rama, Turbo Tussle, One and Gunned, Heavy Hitters, Blast Off!, Sniper Standoff and Winch Wars. Each hands everyone the same modified loadout — Boom Brawl, for example, puts the whole lobby on Light with swords, and eliminated players drop throwable bombs.
- No leaderboard yet — Embark says one is coming. The full mini-mode breakdown is in the Solo Showdown guide, and if you’re queueing alone this season it’s the mode to learn. New to the game? The beginner guide covers the basics.
The rest of the Quickplay rotation
Season 12’s Quickplay playlist features:
- Point Break: Two teams of eight in a Rush-style sector battle. Attackers have limited revives and must capture every sector.
- Power Shift: Five versus five fighting over one moving platform — stand on it to pull it toward your side. Tug-of-war with guns.
- Team Deathmatch: Five versus five, first to 30 kills, best of three rounds. Warm-up mode.
Modes you might remember
- Bank It: Four teams grabbing coins from vaults and cashing them, first to the target wins. Not in the current rotation — it returns occasionally as a limited-time event.
- Cashout (Bots): The full Cashout format against bots, at reduced progression rates. Great for learning maps without eating a loss.
