THE FINALS 93R Guide (Season 12)
The 93R is the Light’s burst pistol — the weapon for players who want Medium-style burst discipline on a Light body. It doesn’t spray like the XP-54 and it doesn’t duel like a sniper. It asks you to time your bursts and pick your range, and when you do, it deletes. As of Season 12 it sits comfortably in the middle of the Light tier list: not the default meta pick, but absolutely a carry weapon in the right hands.
What it is
A burst-firing pistol built for mid-range trades. Every trigger pull dumps a short burst, so the 93R lives and dies by burst timing. Hold the trigger and you’re throwing rounds at the ceiling; tap it and you’re laser-tagging heads across a street.
Engagement range
- Sweet spot: 10 to 30 meters. Close enough to punish aggressive Lights, far enough to stay out of shotgun range.
- Burst, don’t hold. The whole gun is the burst timer. Space your pulls and the recoil resets between them.
- Inside 10 meters you’re competing with SMGs and shotguns — winnable, but you need to start the duel with an advantage (height, cloak, a pre-aimed corner).
Attachment ideas
- Recoil control and horizontal stabilization matter most — the burst pattern is predictable, and taming it makes follow-up bursts land.
- A light optic if you’re playing the 10–30 meter band hard; irons are fine if you’re playing closer.
- Reload speed is underrated here. The 93R is a high-tempo weapon; downtime between fights should be short.
Pros and cons
Why players love it:
- Burst damage that can out-trade SMGs at mid range
- Feels great on a Light body — you dictate range instead of eating a Heavy’s mag
- Rewards practice; there’s a real skill ceiling
What to watch out for:
- Burst timing is everything; panic-holding wastes the mag
- Rough against a well-positioned sniper or a Heavy holding a lane with an LMG
- Not as forgiving as the XP-54 up close
Who should run it
Aggressive mid-range Lights — especially Infiltrators who want True Sight intel plus a gun that punishes pushed fights. It pairs naturally with Cloaking Device (close the gap, burst, vanish) and the Grappling Hook (take the angle nobody expects). If your Light game is “flank, burst, disengage” rather than “hold W with an SMG,” this is your pistol.
Compare it with the XP-54 for pure close-range chaos, or check the Light build guide for the full kit. Running an Infiltrator? The Infiltrator guide covers the gadgets that pair best with a mid-range Light.
