THE FINALS Recurve Bow Guide (Season 12)
Quick clarification up front: the Recurve Bow is a Light weapon, not a Medium one — people mix this up because it feels like a precision marksman tool, but it lives in the Light arsenal. And it’s one of the most unique weapons in THE FINALS: a projectile-firing bow on the fastest body in the game.
What it is
A Light-build recurve bow. Arrows are projectiles with travel time, which means you lead moving targets and arc your shots — but in exchange, a well-placed charged hit does serious damage, and firing doesn’t announce your position the way gunfire does. It’s a skill weapon with no equal in the game.
Engagement range
- Sweet spot: 20 to 45 meters. Long enough to be annoying, close enough that travel time stays manageable.
- Lead your targets. Projectile speed is the whole learning curve; spend time in the range before you take it to Cashout.
- Release timing matters more than raw aim. A rushed release is a wasted arrow.
- Close range works differently — hip-fired arrows at a pushing Light can end them before they react.
Attachment ideas
- The bow’s attachments are minimal — focus on handling and anything that tightens your shot cycle.
- Your real “attachment” is positioning: height advantage makes arrows dramatically easier.
- Practice the release; it’s a muscle-memory weapon, not a stat weapon.
Pros and cons
Why it’s beloved:
- One-shot potential on Lights with a well-placed charged shot
- Quiet pressure — you can pick at enemies without revealing your position
- Utterly unique; nobody expects it
Where it hurts:
- Brutal learning curve; you’ll whiff a lot at first
- Hopeless against Heavies at range — you’re not breaking a Heavy with arrows alone
- Fighting in your own arrows is embarrassing and entirely possible
Who should run it
Patient players with good aim and a love for the off-meta. The bow pairs beautifully with Cloaking Device — cloak, take the perch, plink, reposition — and the Grappling Hook for unconventional angles. If you want the precision fantasy with more forgiveness, the LH1 or SR-84 are the safer picks.
The Light build guide covers the full kit, and the movement tech guide explains the hook movement that makes bow perches viable.
