THE FINALS FCAR Guide (Season 12)
The FCAR is the other half of Medium’s assault rifle duopoly: where the AKM is a suppression tool, the FCAR is a scalpel. Low recoil, high accuracy, and a magazine that demands you make every round count. Season 12 kept it in the top tier of the class, and the FCAR Aggro loadout (FCAR, Healing Beam, Defibrillator, Jump Pad, Goo Grenade) is still one of the most recommended Medium setups around.
What it is
A precise, low-recoil assault rifle with a smaller magazine. The first few rounds out of the FCAR go almost exactly where you point them, which makes it lethal for opening a fight on your terms. Then it starts climbing — and that’s where trigger discipline separates FCAR players from FCAR owners.
Engagement range
- Sweet spot: 10 to 30 meters. The FCAR’s opening-burst accuracy is best-in-class for Medium, so peek, fire, and return to cover faster than enemies with heavier guns can react.
- Burst, don’t hold. Pre-firing corners lazily is how you dump a 20-round mag into a wall. Every bullet is a real percentage of your total damage output.
- Past 35 meters you’re technically able to hit things, but the AKM and marksman rifles do it better. Don’t pick fights you’ll lose on reload.
Attachment ideas
The FCAR doesn’t need much help with accuracy — spend your slots on the things that fix its weaknesses:
- Recoil control still helps the climb on longer bursts, but prioritize whatever tightens the hip-fire cone for panic situations.
- Reload speed is arguably the most valuable stat. With a small mag and a high rate of fire, you reload constantly — cutting that time is pure value.
- Skip the long-range optics. This is a mid-range dueling gun, not a lane-holding gun.
Pros and cons
Why players swear by it:
- Opening-burst accuracy is essentially pixel-perfect — you win the first exchange almost every time
- Low recoil makes it comfortable to learn and satisfying to master
- Fast, clean dueling: peek, burst, back to cover, repeat
- Fits aggressive Medium play better than any other AR
Why it’s not for everyone:
- The small magazine punishes missed shots hard. Miss your opening burst and you’re reloading mid-duel
- Not a suppression weapon — you can’t out-sustain an AKM in a prolonged trade
- Panic-spraying at close range wastes the gun’s entire advantage
Who should run it
Mediums who like to frag. If your idea of support is out-shooting the enemies so your team doesn’t need healing, the FCAR is the gun. The FCAR Aggro build keeps a Defibrillator and Jump Pad for the team while letting you carry fights yourself.
If you find yourself dry more often than you’d like, either slow down and let the bursts reset, or switch to the AKM and embrace the suppression role. Full kit ideas live in the Medium build guide, and the Season 12 loadouts overview shows how it fits the current meta.
