THE FINALS LH1 guide: the Light marksman rifle in Season 12 — best ranges, attachment ideas, pros and cons, and which builds it suits.
THE FINALS LH1 Guide (Season 12)
Most Light players live and die in SMG range. The LH1 is for the ones who’d rather delete someone from 40 meters before they ever see you. It’s a Light-build marksman rifle, it’s rated in the upper tiers of the class as of Season 12, and it’s the other half of the popular Cloak Recon setup alongside the XP-54. Here’s how to run it properly.
What it is
A semi-automatic marksman rifle built for Light. It hits hard at range, rewards clean first shots, and gives the squishiest class in the game a way to win fights without ever being in danger. The catch is obvious: miss your shots and a Light with an SMG will simply walk up and end you.
Engagement range
- Sweet spot: 30 to 50 meters. Rooftop duels, long lanes across Vegas or Fangwai’s riverfront, and picking off defenders from a balcony nobody checked.
- First-shot accuracy is the weapon. Take the duel on your terms — reposition, take the angle, fire, break line of sight. You are not trading fairly with anyone.
- Inside 15 meters you’re in trouble unless you hit a headshot. An XP-54 or KS-23 will beat you nearly every time. Keep your escape route planned before you take the shot.
Attachment ideas
Build the LH1 around consistency at range:
- A magnified optic is close to mandatory — this is a precision tool, give yourself the visual information to use it.
- Recoil control keeps follow-up shots on target after the first hit lands.
- Reload speed matters because you’ll often fire one or two shots and relocate. Faster reload, faster next duel.
Pros and cons
Why it’s a top Light pick:
- Lets the squishiest class win fights without taking damage at all
- Headshot damage deletes Lights outright and chunks Mediums hard
- Pairs beautifully with stealth: Cloaking Device, Grappling Hook height, Infiltrator disguises
- Punishes overextending enemies who think distance is safety
What it demands from you:
- Shot placement or nothing. Body shots at range lose to basically every other gun
- Awkward in the close-quarters maps and interiors — Seoul’s Mall is LH1 purgatory
- Slow follow-up shots mean you lose multi-target scrambles
Who should run it
Patient players with good aim who like to play the map, not the fight. The Cloak Recon pairing — LH1 or XP-54, Cloaking Device, Gateway, Glitch Grenade, H+ Infuser — uses stealth and portals to get you into unexpected high-ground angles, then the LH1 collects the frag. Infiltrator players also love it: disguise or reposition into a lane, True Sight to confirm the target, LH1 to collect.
If you’re new to Light, start with the XP-54 and switch once your aim can carry the LH1’s demands. The Light build guide has full loadouts, and movement tech is what actually unlocks the angles this gun needs.
