THE FINALS M11 Guide (Season 12)

THE FINALS M11 guide: the Light machine pistol in Season 12 — best ranges, attachment ideas, pros and cons, and how it fits aggressive Light play.

THE FINALS M11 Guide (Season 12)

The M11 is the Light machine pistol — the pocket-sized bullet hose that lets the squishiest class in the game out-DPS people who out-tank it. It’s rated in the upper tiers for Light as of Season 12, and while it sits in the XP-54’s shadow, it plays differently enough to be worth your time. Here’s the honest breakdown.

What it is

A fast-firing machine pistol for the Light build. The pitch is simple: XP-54-level mobility with more bullets per second. The reality is a slightly harder weapon to control — this is a gun that demands clean tracking and punishes lazy sprays.

Engagement range

  • Sweet spot: 5 to 15 meters. This is a close-range dueling weapon — the range where an M11 in good hands beats almost anything.
  • Control is everything. The M11’s recoil and muzzle flash are noticeable compared to the XP-54’s cleaner feel. Burst it, don’t hold it, and be aware the flash can genuinely clutter your view in prolonged fights.
  • Past 20 meters it’s a last resort. Reposition instead of spraying and praying.

Attachment ideas

Spend every slot taming the gun:

  • Recoil control is non-negotiable. The M11 climbs, and the whole point is keeping rounds on one target.
  • Anything that reduces visual noise helps — the flash is the M11’s biggest practical weakness, so optics that clear your screen view have real value.
  • Reload speed matters. You empty the mag fast in duels, so the downtime between fights needs to be short.

Pros and cons

Why players pick it up:

  • Very high close-range DPS — among the fastest kills in the Light arsenal
  • Keeps your full Light mobility while outputting serious damage
  • Rewards good aim more than any other Light primary; the skill ceiling is real
  • Excellent for punishing overextending Heavies who expect to out-trade you

Why it’s niche:

  • The muzzle flash and recoil make it harder to control than the XP-54, especially in longer fights
  • Smaller effective range means you lose more pre-fight positioning battles
  • A dry mag is a death sentence — you’re reloading more often than you’d like

Who should run it

Confident duelists who like to initiate. If your Light game is “find an isolated target, delete them, leave before their team rotates,” the M11’s damage window is perfect. It also pairs surprisingly well with Infiltrator: True Sight to confirm a target through smoke, then an M11 burst to cash in. The aggressive Cloak ambush style — Cloaking Device, Breach Charge, Vanishing Bomb — turns the M11 into a genuine assassination tool.

Newer Light players should probably start with the XP-54 and graduate to the M11 once tracking is consistent. For the full kit, read the Light build guide, and check the Season 12 meta overview to see how it stacks up this season.
