Battlefield 6 Empire State Map Guide: Infantry-Only Brooklyn Brawl
Survive Battlefield 6's Empire State—the infantry-only Brooklyn launch map, its vertical layers, key objectives, and attack-defense tactics with no vehicles.
Empire State is Battlefield 6’s pure infantry playground — a Brooklyn high-rise map with zero vehicles. No tanks, no helis, no Engineers repairing anything. It’s just you, your squad, and a lot of verticality.
Mode fit
Built for tighter Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill. Without vehicles, the match is about map knowledge and angles, not armor. The flow advice in Conquest & Breakthrough tips still applies, minus the tanks.
Three layers of space
- Air (vertical): no aircraft, but the building heights are your “air” — rooftops give Recons sightlines and flanking drops onto lower fights.
- Ground: the streets and lobbies are the contested middle, where squads collide.
- Interior / sub-levels: stairwells, floors, and basement routes are the close-quarters meat. Clear downward and upward methodically.
Key objectives
Flags sit across multiple floors, so holding one means controlling its vertical approaches, not just the room. The rooftop and ground-floor flags are the swing points — capturing a high flag lets you drop on defenders below.
No vehicle lanes — play the stairs
With no armor, movement and positioning rule. Use elevators and stairwells to flank, and never funnel your whole squad through one doorway. Smoke from Support crosses open lobbies; Deployable Cover holds a corridor.
Attacking
Take the vertical routes — drop from a rooftop or push up stairwells to avoid the street crossfire. A squad that owns the high floor controls the flag below. Pre-nade corners and don’t bunch.
Defending
Hold the stairwells and rooftop access — choke the vertical flow. A Recon Motion Sensor at the stairhead warns of pushes; a mounted LMG on a floor window punishes the open approach. Drags and revives matter more here since there’s no vehicle evac — see the movement guide.
Empire State’s companion Brooklyn map with vehicles is Manhattan Bridge. Another infantry-only launch map is Saints Quarter.
Class and loadout notes
As of Season 5, the safe default is Assault or Support for objective work, and Recon where the sightlines favor marksmen. With no vehicles on this map, drop the Engineer repair mindset and lean on Support revives and ammo. Build your gun with the attachment guide and confirm your role in the classes guide.
