Battlefield 6 Hagental Base Map Guide: Underground CQB in the German Mountains
Hagental Base is Battlefield 6's underground infantry map — tunnels, collapsing ceilings and close-quarters fights. Lanes, objective rhythm and how to attack it.
Hagental Base arrived with Season 2’s Nightfall update in March 2026 and it’s the odd one out in the map pool: an underground facility in the German mountains, built for infantry only. No tanks, no air, no breathing room. EA’s pitch was “gripping underground close-quarters combat,” which is accurate — and it’s also why half the player base either loves it or quits after one round.
Mode fit
It’s a small-mode map. Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch and Domination are the natural fits, and the Nightfall playlist famously ran it with the lights mostly out. If you queue it expecting Conquest, you’re in the wrong playlist.
Three layers of space
- Air: none. Don’t look up, there’s a ceiling.
- Ground: corridors, rooms and junction halls. Everything is a lane, and every lane has two or three angles onto it.
- Interior: all of it. The whole map is indoors, which means sound and pre-aim matter more than anywhere else in the game.
Destruction is the wildcard — you can bring ceilings down and open or close routes mid-match, so a lane that was safe thirty seconds ago may not exist anymore.
Key objectives
Objectives sit in the bigger halls and junctions, with tunnels connecting them. The rhythm is pure rotation: take a room, clear the two corridors off it, push to the next. Because spawns flip fast, the team that keeps two players alive on the objective wins rather than the team that pushes four in and dies together.
Vehicle lanes
There aren’t any. That’s the point. Leave the repair tool at home and bring CQB tools — see the classes guide for what to swap in.
Attacking
- Entry matters more than aim. Pick one corridor, clear it, then hold it while a teammate takes the second.
- Throw everything before you turn a corner. Grenades, flash, whatever you’ve got — corners here are bought, not peeked.
- Move in pairs. A solo pusher dies to the third guy in the room every time.
Defending
Hold the junctions, not the objective marker. Sit off-angle from the corridor entrance and let them walk past you into the room. Ambushes work better here than anywhere else in BF6 because there are only so many ways in. And watch the ceilings — if the roof above your lane goes, so does your cover.
Class and loadout notes
SMGs and shotguns rule, and hip-fire attachments are worth the Pick 100 points. Assault for self-heal and pushing, Engineer for the CQB gadget options, Support if your squad keeps losing the attrition fight. Build short-range with the attachment guide, and if you want the same density with more room to move, try Cairo Bazaar or Saints Quarter.
