Battlefield 6 Tsuru Reef Map Guide: Island Hopping and Naval Combat
Tsuru Reef is Battlefield 6's Season 4 archipelago — boats, carriers and island flags. Rotation, water lanes, the central island and how to attack beaches.
Tsuru Reef opened Season 4 in July 2026 and it’s the map that brought naval combat back: a tropical archipelago of beaches, cliffs, resort buildings and a working harbour, fought over with boats as well as tanks and aircraft. EA’s own dev guide called it the biggest all-out-warfare battlefield at the time.
Mode fit
It’s built for Conquest — island flags and boats only make sense at scale — and it plays well in Breakthrough too. Later in Season 4 each side got an aircraft carrier (NATO’s Grant, Pact’s Condor), which pushed the fight further out to sea. Small modes see a much smaller slice of it.
Three layers of space
- Air: busy. Jets and helis fight over open water with nowhere to hide, and the airbase runway gives damaged aircraft somewhere to touch and go.
- Ground: the islands — beach, cliffs, resort interiors, plus a harbour chokepoint. This is where the flags are.
- Water: the layer people forget. The RCB-90 patrol boat (30mm cannon, mortars, mines) and the fast RHIB transport are the reason this map works. As of Season 5, cap points can even be worked from underwater, so diving isn’t just for escape.
Key objectives
Flags are spread across the islands. EA’s advice is direct: take the central island and every surrounding island gets easier. Outside of Conquest, the harbour and the airbase are the two places the match actually gets decided. The smaller, unnamed islands aren’t objectives — Starry Hill and friends — but they’re excellent spawn-beacon real estate.
Vehicle lanes
Water lanes between islands are the main roads. Learn them before you learn anything else on this map.
- RCB-90: stay at medium range offshore and shell the point. Get close to the beach and infantry grenade launchers will delete you.
- RHIB: pure insertion. Use the speed to drop a squad behind a flag, not to fight.
- Air: the runway is your emergency stop and your escape from a lock.
Attacking
Insert wide, not straight. Drive a boat to the back of an island, drop a beacon under cover, then push in from two sides. Smoke the beach before the ramp goes down. The squad guide applies doubly here — a solo swimmer is a free kill.
Defending
Mine the approach channels between islands, not the open ocean. Recon with a designator plus Engineers with lock-on rockets is the standard answer to enemy boats, and holding the high ground above a beach makes every landing expensive. Watch the water, not just the tree line.
Class and loadout notes
Recon for designating boats and placing beacons on the outer islands, Engineer for mines and rockets, Assault for the landings. Check the classes guide. More water fighting: Wake Island.
