Battlefield 6 Wake Island Map Guide: The Season 4 Naval Classic

Return to Battlefield 6's Wake Island—the Season 4 Pacific atoll naval remake, its layers, key objectives, boat lanes, and attack-defense strategy.

Wake Island is Battlefield 6’s Season 4 love letter — the classic Pacific atoll remake, and one of the few maps where naval combat is center stage. Boats, beaches, and air duels over water. If you grew up on the original, this one’s for you.

Mode fit

Strong in Conquest and Breakthrough. The island layout means fights split between beach landings, interior holds, and the surrounding water. Vehicles — especially boats and aircraft — are central. Read Conquest & Breakthrough tips.

Three layers of space

  • Air: huge ocean sky. Jets and helis dominate; air superiority protects your landings and hunts enemy boats. Bring MAA and stingers on the shore.
  • Water / ground: the atoll’s beaches and causeways are the contested ground. Boats (the RCB-90 patrol boat and RHIBs) ferry troops and duel each other — a new layer most maps lack.
  • Interior: the island’s structures and cover are where infantry digs in after the landing.

Key objectives

Flags sit on the beachheads and interior strongpoints. The beach flags are the brutal initial fights; the interior ones are defensible but easy to isolate if you lose the water. Controlling the boats often means controlling the match’s tempo.

Vehicle lanes

This is where the vehicles guide boat family matters. Use patrol boats to land squads on undefended shores and to challenge enemy water movement. Armor runs the causeways, not the surf. IFVs support beach pushes. Watch the sky — open water means aircraft hunt everything.

Attacking

Don’t pile onto one beach. Use boats to flank with a second landing while the enemy defends the obvious approach. Smoke the surf crossing, suppress with armor on the causeway, and clear the interior methodically.

Defending

Hold the beach approaches and pre-aim the landing zones. A defender with an AT weapon on the shore wrecks an enemy boat rush. Recon overwatch spots incoming landings; MAA keeps the sky clear so your boats survive.

Class and loadout notes

As of Season 5, the safe default is Assault or Support for objective work, Engineer whenever armor or boats are in play, and Recon where the sightlines favor marksmen. On this naval map force an Engineer into every squad for the water war; build your gun with the attachment guide and confirm your role in the classes guide.
