Battlefield 6 KTS100 MK8: The Magazine-Fed LMG Topping the Pick Charts
The KTS100 MK8 is the most-picked gun in Battlefield 6 as of Season 5 — a magazine-fed LMG with almost no recoil. Builds, burst discipline and where it fits.
The KTS100 MK8 has quietly become the most-picked weapon in Battlefield 6. Tracker data through Season 5 keeps it at the top of the charts, and it’s not hard to see why: it’s an LMG that recoils like an assault rifle and reloads like one too, because it’s magazine-fed instead of belt-fed.
The numbers that matter
- 514 RPM with 25 damage per round. Four shots to kill at mid range, and it stays a six-shot kill out past 75 meters. That’s LMG damage with a fire rate you can actually control.
- Magazine-fed. Reloads take a fraction of the time a belt-fed gun like the DRS-IAR asks for. In a game where uptime wins fights, that’s the hidden stat that matters.
- Almost no recoil. The MK8 is famous for being a laser. You’re not fighting the gun, you’re fighting your own positioning.
Controlling it
Low recoil doesn’t mean you hold the trigger forever:
- Fire in five- and six-round bursts. At 514 RPM a full magazine is gone in about a second and a half, and the gun does start to wander if you stretch bursts out.
- Pre-aim at chest height and let the first burst do the work. The time to kill is front-loaded, so whoever shoots first usually walks away.
- Don’t overextend. The fire rate is slow for an LMG, so anyone who gets inside your burst with an SMG — the SGX being the classic — will melt you. Take fights where you shoot first.
Attachment direction
You’ve got 100 points. Spend them on keeping the laser a laser:
- Barrel: 508mm MK8. The backbone of every MK8 build. It tightens the recoil pattern and smooths the bullet path at mid range.
- Underbarrel: Stippled Stubby. Recoil stabilization and less idle sway, which matters when you’re holding a lane for a minute waiting for the push.
- Muzzle: Lightened Suppressor. Staying off the minimap is worth more than the last few points of recoil as of Season 5.
- Magazine: 60RND Drum. Enough to delete a whole squad, and still reloads faster than any belt option.
- Optic: RO-M 1.75x. Clean sight picture for tight lanes and long power positions. A bigger scope just makes close tracking worse.
Class pairing
Run it on Support with the Combat Medic training path. The MK8 is a holding weapon, and Combat Medic is built for holding:
- Defibrillator to chain revives behind cover right after you clear a lane.
- GPDIS near common push routes so your position doesn’t get deleted by grenade spam.
- Smoke to break sniper sightlines, then revive your squad inside the cloud.
Who should run it
- Players who like pre-aimed, disciplined fights. This gun rewards patience, not reflex.
- Anyone on mid-range maps — Liberation Peak, Mirak Valley, Railway to Golmud.
- Squad players. A controlled MK8 behind smoke is the anchor a Breakthrough push builds around.
