Arche Tuning Guide – Min-Max Your Descendant Past Level 40

How Arche Tuning works in The First Descendant: Unique Arche Factor to level 40, the node board, Mutant Cells, and where to grind the EXP efficiently.

Arche Tuning is where The First Descendant stops being about raw levels and starts being about fine-tuning. Unlock it after the “Into the Storm” main quest, and every Descendant in a group (say, base and Ultimate versions) shares the progress.

Leveling Unique Arche Factor

Your Unique Arche Factor goes to level 40, and each level grants Arche Tuning points you spend on the board (hard cap 40 points). You earn the EXP by running content that grants it: Sigma Sector Normal and High-risk is the fastest, especially the daily missions that hand out thousands per zone. Void Erosion, Void Vessel Hard, and 400% Infiltration Operations also pay out. Our tfd-mastery-rank-guide helps if you are still climbing toward the endgame where this matters.

The Node Board

The board is a web of passive nodes in four quadrants: MP and skill crit top-right, HP and DEF bottom-right, weapon damage and ammo top-left, multi-hit and shields bottom-left. You start in the middle and can only activate adjacent nodes, so plan a path instead of grabbing everything. Resets are free, and you can save three presets for different builds. The passives are small on their own but stack into a real bump.

Mutant Cell Slots

The corners hold Mutant Cell Slots. Unlock one with 100 Fission Accelerants (from Sigma Sector commanders), then equip a Mutant Cell pulled from a Spoils Box – those drop at 5% from High-risk Sigma and 2.5% from Normal. To swap a cell you spend 100 ARC Genetic Scissors, also from Sigma commanders. Cells are not shared between loadouts, so plan per build.

If you are building a specific character, pair this with our class guides like tfd-serena-build or tfd-enzo-build, and once your cells are rolling, tfd-reactor-external-components covers the gear that complements the bonuses.
