Freyna Build Guide — Poison Farming Queen in The First Descendant
Freyna is still the Toxic farming queen after the 1.4.5 rework — here is her Toxic Mechanics build, best weapons, and how to farm her materials.
Freyna has been the go-to farmer since day one, and even after the 1.4.5 rework she’s still the Toxic queen of mob clear. Quick warning: a lot of old Freyna guides are now wrong, so treat pre-rework module lists with suspicion.
What Freyna actually does
She’s a damage-over-time specialist. Venom Trauma and Decomposed Poison drop Room 0 Trauma and Toxic Swamps, Defense Mechanism gives you a Plague Bodyarmor, and Venomous Baptism (ult) swaps you to a poison-firing gun. Her Contagion passive scales Toxic Skill Power off how many enemies around you are poisoned — so the more you paint, the harder you hit.
Best weapon pairing
Fallen Hope is the weapon literally made for her: it amplifies poison DoTs and spreads Toxic through packs. Secret Garden is the close second and a great sprint stat stick. The new Nightmare Launcher is a strong Toxic-skill-power stat stick if you have one. For bossing, Enduring Legacy carries; Thunder Cage is the leveling crutch everyone owns.
Reactor + skill match
All her damaging skills are Toxic and Tech, so a Toxic Mechanics reactor is the match — it boosts both. For mobbing grab Skill Cooldown + Tech Skill Power Boost; for bossing chase Colossus damage + cooldown if you’re one-phasing.
Core modules
Toxic Specialist, Toxic Master, Skill Expansion, Maximize Range, Nimble Fingers, and Strong Mentality are the core. The Transcendent layer is where it gets interesting: Contagion spreads Room 0 Trauma on kills, while Venom Synthesis, Neurotoxin Synthesis, and Toxic Mixture are alternate flavors. The new Prepping in the Dark trigger module leans into Ground DoT and Concealment.
External components
The Plague set is built for her (4-piece gives a big Toxic Skill Power bonus and quadruples HP), but Slayer wins if you’re crit-focused. Cores: HP and DEF.
How to get Freyna
Research her through Anais with standard early-game materials (no raid lock). See the unlock guide for the full list.
Beginner friendliness: High, especially for farming
She’s one of the best first “real” farmers you can build, but the rework means you should follow current module advice, not YouTube from last year. Pair her with the best weapons guide and the modding guide to avoid wasting catalysts.
