The First Descendant Gold and Kuiper Farm: The Daily and Weekly Loop
The best gold and Kuiper Shard farm routes in The First Descendant: the daily loop, the weekly Onslaught and Wall Crasher cycle, and what to spend on first.
Gold and Kuiper Shards gate everything in The First Descendant — module upgrades, crystallisation, slot unlocks. The trick isn’t one magic farm; it’s a loop where every activity pays something you need.
Gold: where it actually comes from
- Onslaught Stage 5 is the headline: the completion table pays on the order of 5 million gold per clear, plus roughly 248,000 Kuiper and 367 Superconductive Cooling Units as of Season 4. If you can clear it, it’s the best single-activity payout in the game — see the Stage 4/5 guide.
- Abandoned Refinery in Echo Swamp is the long-standing community gold loop: short runs, dense enemies, and it scales hard with a group of fast characters like Bunny and Valby.
- Dismantle everything you don’t use. Both currencies flow from loot you break down, and hoarding “just in case” gear is the classic mistake — see the mistakes guide.
Kuiper Shards: dismantling is the answer
There’s no secret mission. The honest loop:
- Dismantle modules and gear you’ll never use. Every low-tier module you hold “for later” is Kuiper income you’re declining.
- Onslaught Stage 5 again — roughly a quarter-million Kuiper per clear makes it the biggest single source.
- Axion Plains activities (Operational Areas, Fanged Fields) keep materials and Trigger Modules flowing between big runs.
- Wall Crasher, the eight-player hourly Colossus, pays gold and Kuiper on the first kill of each cycle — see the Wall Crasher guide.
The weekly cycle
- Onslaught stage of the week. Stage 5 for Transcendent-tier module options and 400-quality weapon loot; Stage 4 for two guaranteed Ultimate options. Both lock weekly.
- Wall Crasher, every hour, first kill only. Miss the cycle and the next one pays nothing for the drop rewards.
- Trials runs for Merit Tokens and Transcendent Weapon Loot — the Trials guide covers the daily Protocol rotation.
The daily habit that pays
Check the map’s “Content with ongoing events” icon for the two designated boost contents. The Rotational Boost applies a 15% Transcendent weapon acquisition multiplier there, rotating daily. Two catches:
- It’s a separate multiplier, applied after your battle pass and external component bonuses — not 15 percentage points added to the base rate.
- It moves daily — pick your session’s activity around what’s boosted, not habit.
What to spend on first
- Trigger Module slot unlocks: 300,000 Kuiper, one Refined Axium Crystal, Arche Tuning 40, ten Crystallization Catalyst uses and one Energy Activator per Descendant — details in the Trigger Modules guide. Fund one or two mains, not every character.
- Crystallization Catalysts and Superconductive Cooling Units reroll Ancestors Modules — spend them once you have a module worth rerolling (Ancestors Modules guide).
- Cosmetics last. Always.
Habits that keep the loop clean
- One goal per session. “Gold” is a session; “400-quality Transcendent weapon” is a different session. Split focus halves both.
- Farm in batches. Collect materials and patterns across runs, then open them in one sitting.
- Lock what you keep, dismantle the rest — a full inventory is a farm that’s silently ending.
- If you’re capped on gold, pivot to Kuiper, and vice versa. The loop works because the two currencies come from different places.
For the long-term gear target all of this feeds, see the Transcendent weapon farm guide.
