Valby Build Guide — Water CC and Co-op Farmer in The First Descendant
Valby is the water-control co-op farmer in The First Descendant — here is her Laundry build, reactor, Water Play module, and the weapons that synergize.
Valby is Bunny’s wetter cousin: she paints the floor with water puddles that inflict “Laundry” and deals AoE damage to anything standing in them. She’s a fantastic co-op farmer and one of the best gold/Kuiper grinders, even if she’s weak into boss fights.
What Valby actually does
Her skills drop rectangular water pools (Bubble Bullet, Laundry Bomb, Plop Plop, Clean Up) that inflict Laundry and tick damage. The trick is to blanket the floor and stand in your own puddles — Supply Moister (Transcendent) dramatically boosts your damage while standing in them. She’s mobile and crowd-control heavy, less so a boss killer.
Best weapon pairing
Thunder Cage is the classic: its electric shockwaves deal bonus damage to Laundry-afflicted enemies, so every Valby skill feeds it. Enduring Legacy and Afterglow Sword cover bosses, Blue Beetle and Secret Garden are solid tech picks. As always, pair the reactor optimization condition with your main gun.
Reactor + skill match
She’s Non-Attribute with Fusion (Bubble Bullet, Laundry Bomb) and Dimension (Plop Plop, Clean Up) skills. Materialized Phase (Non-Attribute + Dimension) or Materialized Mixture (Non-Attribute + Fusion) covers it; most players prefer Mixture since her strongest skills sit there. Chase Skill Cooldown and Non-Attribute Skill Power.
Core modules
Water Play (Transcendent, boosts Bubble Bullet), Emergency Measures, Enlightenment (max MP — she’s mana-hungry), Technician, Technique Manual, Increase HP, Skill Extension, Shock Punch (sub-attack), Nimble Fingers, Strong Mentality, Focus on Non-Attribute, Maximize Skill, Fusion Master.
External components
Annihilation set is the common pick; otherwise stack Max HP, Max Shield, DEF, and HP Recovery for survive-ability.

Beginner friendliness: High and team-friendly
She’s forgiving and great in groups, but her boss weakness means you’ll want a second Descendant. Start with the beginner guide and the modding guide so you don’t waste catalysts on the wrong reactor.
