Apex Settings Guide: Sensitivity, Aim Assist and Keybinds
Apex settings that actually help: sensitivity, aim assist on controller, FOV and keybinds. Platform-specific defaults and what to change first.

Apex is the same game on every platform, but the right settings differ by input. This is the order to fix things, not a copy-paste config — and a hard line on what not to do.
First: FOV and display
- FOV: 90–110 on PC. Higher FOV sees more but makes targets smaller; most pros sit around 100–110.
- Adaptive Resolution / V-Sync: keep V-Sync off for input latency; cap FPS instead.
Controller (console / controller-on-PC)
- Aim Assist: leave it on — it is the controller’s balancing tool, not a crutch.
- Look Sensitivity: start low (3–4) and raise until you can track without overshooting.
- Response Curve: Linear or Steady; avoid Exponential if you want predictable aim.
- Deadzone: as low as your stick drift allows (0.05–0.10) for finer control.
Mouse and keyboard (PC)
- Mouse Sensitivity: low enough to do a 180 without lifting the mouse off the pad; most players use 1.5–3.0 at 800 DPI.
- Keybinds: move heal/abilities off defaults if they clash; consistency matters more than any specific layout.
What NOT to do
- No recoil macros or scripts. They are cheats, get you banned, and teach you nothing. Learn the recoil pattern instead — see weapon tier list for which guns are forgiving.
- Don’t copy a pro’s exact numbers blindly; hardware and hand size differ.
