Delta Force Beginners Guide: Your First Hour

Pick a mode, learn one map, and extract safely with a first-session plan built for new players.

Delta Force is a free-to-play shooter from Team Jade that launched on PC in December 2024 and later expanded to PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile. Three modes share one install, and the fastest way to stop feeling lost is to pick one mode, learn one map, and set a goal you can finish in a single session.

The three modes in one sentence each

  • Hazard Operations is an extraction shooter: you drop in with the gear you own, loot what you can, and try to leave with it.
  • Warfare is large-scale objective PvP — attack and defend, king of the hill, and vehicle-led pushes across land, sea, and air.
  • Black Hawk Down is a solo or co-op campaign of seven missions, delivered as a free download that does not share progress with the multiplayer modes.

Hazard Operations and Warfare carry separate economies, so loot and currency earned in one do not automatically feed the other. Decide which loop you enjoy first; everything else follows.

A 30-minute path into your first match

  1. Minutes 0-10 — install and verify. Confirm storage and hardware before anything else; the game sits comfortably on a GTX 1060-class PC, and you will need roughly 85 GB for the base client plus about 22 GB for map packs.
  2. Minutes 10-20 — set your controls. Run through sensitivity and keybinds before your first match, not after fifty deaths. The three-step sensitivity method starts from defaults so you never inherit someone else’s mouse settings.
  3. Minutes 20-30 — pick your mode. If you want tension and progression, start in Hazard Operations on Zero Dam, the beginner-friendly map with concentrated loot. If you want instant respawns and no gear risk, queue Warfare.

Your first hour goals

Set goals that teach one system, not five:

  • Operations: complete one extraction, even with almost nothing. Leaving alive is the win condition, not the kill count.
  • Warfare: stay on the objective with your squad for a full push. Learn the spawn rhythm before you chase dogfights.
  • Black Hawk Down: finish Mission 1 on Normal to calibrate the difficulty before committing to a four-player squad run — the developers recommend four players for the campaign.

What to ignore in week one

Do not chase the market, do not insure expensive gear you cannot replace, and do not copy high-end loadouts before you understand why they work. The first-raid checklist covers what actually matters before you drop in, and the common mistakes list will save you more currency than any build guide.

If you cannot decide between the two multiplayer loops, the mode comparison walks through pacing, economy, and hardware differences, and the sensitivity guide fixes your controls before your first death. Check current map rotations, mode availability, and any event modifiers in-game before you queue.
