Black Site Unlock Order: Which Stations First
Open the stations that feed your daily loop first, then expand into materials and intel once the early income engine runs stable.
You will not have all nine Black Site stations on day one, and unlocking everything at once spreads your resources until nothing levels. The unlock order that works is bottleneck-driven: open whatever your account is shortest of, then expand outward from there.
The three-stage framework
Stage 1 — Currency first. Currency stations fund everything else: upgrades, purchases, entry costs. Until at least one currency station runs steadily, every other unlock competes for resources you do not have. Open one currency station, level it through its cheap stages, and let it bankroll the rest. How it converts into a daily routine is covered on the daily income page.
Stage 2 — The bucket your playstyle consumes. Look at how you actually play:
| Your pattern | Unlock next | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Raid often, loot-heavy runs | Materials stations | Upgrade inputs and crafting flow |
| Buy gear and flip on the market | A second currency station | Compounding spendable income |
| Run high-risk maps for rare loot | Intel stations | Better targeting, fewer wasted runs |
| Constantly rebuy consumables | Item stations | Output substitutes for purchases |
Stage 3 — Fill the grid. Once your core stations are leveled through their cheap stages, open the remaining stations and take them to their first few levels. Breadth at low levels is cheap; depth is where the costs live, and depth belongs to the stations you specialized in during stage 2.
Rules that keep the order honest
- Never unlock a station you cannot feed. If a station consumes materials per cycle and your materials income is zero, it produces nothing net. Unlock its input source first.
- Respect prerequisites. Some stations unlock behind others or behind account progression. Seasons add and rearrange stations, so read the unlock tree for the gate that blocks the station you want next, not for a completion order — the tree changes shape more often than the principle does.
- Leave expansion room. Grid space is finite, and late-game stations need slots. The layout page covers arranging stations so future unlocks do not force a teardown.
- Judge by bottleneck, not by excitement. The right next unlock is the one that unblocks the most upgrades, not the one with the flashiest preview.
When the order changes
A new season can retune outputs, and a station that was filler last season can become your best income source this one. Re-run the bottleneck check after major updates: whichever bucket your account is shortest of right now is your next unlock. The workstation overview maps the current roster to output buckets, and the upgrade priority page covers what to do once a station is open.
