Are Assault Mode Rewards Worth It?
Weigh PvE wave income against random battles per hour, and decide when Assault pays better for Silver Lions and RP.
Assault pays through the same results screen as every other mode, so “is it worth it” reduces to one question: rewards per hour, compared with what else you could queue. Here is the framework for answering that with your own numbers instead of someone else’s outdated screenshot.
How Assault pays
Battles pay Silver Lions after repair costs, Research Points toward the vehicles you fielded, and activity-based bonuses, exactly as in PvP. The mode’s distinctive economics are duration and consistency: waves run longer than a typical random battle death, and PvE performance is more repeatable than PvP performance.
Payout values vary by battle rating, vehicle, and account status — check your own results screen across several battles before drawing conclusions, since any fixed number published elsewhere will be stale.
The per-hour comparison framework
Measure, do not guess. Run this comparison over a few sessions:
| Step | What to record |
|---|---|
| 1 | Time a full Assault run and note total SL and RP earned |
| 2 | Time three random battles at the same battle rating and total their SL and RP |
| 3 | Divide rewards by minutes played in each mode |
| 4 | Compare the two rates, weighting whichever currency you currently need more |
Two findings are common. Assault’s rewards are steadier — you rarely end a run negative because survival is achievable — but the peak income per hour usually belongs to efficient PvP play, where a strong battle pays more than a strong wave run.
When Assault is the right queue
- When you are learning a vehicle. Practice value plus non-negative income beats PvP losses while you learn a new line.
- When you are warming up or winding down. Short, low-stakes sessions before or after serious PvP.
- When your Silver Lions are tight. Consistent, rarely-negative income is exactly what a struggling account needs; the recovery frameworks in Silver Lions explained and Silver Lions grinding apply directly.
- When you simply enjoy it. Enjoyment is a legitimate input to a value calculation.
When it is not
- When you need maximum Research Points per hour. PvP against humans, played well, generally out-earns PvE per minute.
- When a specific PvP skill is your bottleneck. AI will not teach you to fight players who flank, bait, and adapt.
- When wave difficulty outpaces your lineup. Later waves against an under-prepared lineup just cost repair bills.
The verdict framework
Assault is a stability pick: reliable, educational, rarely negative. Random battles are the income pick: higher variance, higher ceiling. A healthy playtime uses both — Assault to learn and stabilize, random battles to push progress.
