AZ3 Nuclear Plant Loot: Hazard Zone Routes
Loot AZ3 Nuclear Plant around radiation and electrified hazards, and route through safe zones before entering high-value interiors.
AZ3 Nuclear Plant is the extraction map built around a crisis theme: the plant itself is the loot, and the plant is hostile. Official materials position AZ3 as the first new extraction map added since Tide Prison, and its design pushes environmental hazards — radiation zones and electrified areas — into the middle of the loot routes. The players who profit here manage terrain, not just fights.
The hazard layer
AZ3 adds environmental danger on top of the usual player threat:
- Radiation zones punish players who linger. Treat them as timed areas: enter, loot, leave.
- Electrified areas create sudden no-go ground and change which routes are open from moment to moment.
- Hazard behaviour and the equipment that counters it are patch-sensitive, so test one hazard zone before committing a route to it — the counter-gear slot is what changes most often.
The habit to build: before every room and corridor, ask what the hazard cost of this path is. The fastest route is often the wrong one.
Zone framework
| Zone | Loot character | Hazard profile | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outer grounds and approaches | Moderate, spread | Lower hazard density | Medium |
| Facility interiors | Dense, high-value spawns | Radiation and electrified areas | High |
| Deep plant sections | Highest value | Heaviest hazards, contained spaces | Very high — squad only |
Route framework
- Perimeter recon route. Circle the facility first, learn which hazard areas are live this raid, then commit.
- Interior sprint route. Enter with a full squad, loot one dense wing, and exit before hazards or players punish the linger.
- Hazard-timing route. Time your entry around hazard patterns where possible — the plant’s danger has rhythm, and the rhythm is learnable in-game.
- Bait-and-bank route. Loot the outer grounds, bank value, and push the interior only if the raid is quiet and your kit is strong.
Loadout notes
- Bring armor and ammo suited to armored opponents — AZ3 attracts geared players chasing the plant’s value. The ammo types guide explains penetration tiers.
- Carry enough healing for a fight plus hazard damage; hazards chip you before the shooting starts.
- Fill the secure case first — AZ3’s best loot dies with you unless it fits. See secure case priority.
- Consider insurance for expensive kits, but read current payout terms in-game; the framework is in insurance worth it.
AZ3 is an advanced map. If your bankroll cannot support the kit this page assumes, farm Zero Dam or Layali Grove first — the broke-recovery plan covers the comeback path. AZ3 also appears among the maps where the fishing activity is available on Easy difficulty, which makes it a low-risk place to spend time early. Exit planning is in AZ3 extraction points.
