AZ3 Nuclear Plant Extraction: Exit Framework
Plan AZ3 extractions by counting hazards into your exit timing, and choose the route your squad can actually survive.
Extracting from AZ3 is extraction under a second clock. The plant’s hazards — radiation zones and electrified areas — keep moving, which means the route that worked on the way in may be closed on the way out. Plan two exits, time them against the hazards, and treat a slow squad as the real constraint.
Exit framework
- At spawn, map the extraction points and their activation conditions. Some are static; some require an action or a timer; specifics change between seasons, so verify in-game.
- Mark a primary exit near the facility side your loot route will finish on.
- Mark a backup on the opposite side. In a hazard map, backups matter more than anywhere else in Hazard Operations.
- Brief both exits to the squad before looting. In AZ3, “which way is out” is a question you answer before contact, not during it.
Hazard-aware timing
| Factor | Extraction implication |
|---|---|
| Radiation zones between you and the exit | Add transit time or reroute; lingering costs health you need for the exfil fight |
| Electrified areas active on your path | Treat as closed until you have watched them change; do not learn their cycle while running |
| Squad at partial health | Choose the shorter exit even if it is hotter; a long route with low health is a worse gamble |
| Bag full of plant loot | Extract early — value is only real once you are out |
Movement rules
- Move between exits along routes you have already observed. In AZ3, “new shortcut” and “ambush” are frequently the same thing.
- Watch hazard areas change before you commit to crossing them; the plant’s danger has patterns you can learn across raids.
- Keep the squad together for the extraction run. A split squad in a hazard map loses people to the environment, not to players.
- If an exit is contested, do not force it with hazard damage ticking. Take the backup and bank what you have.
When to leave
- The moment bag value beats kit cost — the same threshold as every map, more urgent here.
- After any won fight inside the facility. The plant’s interior is magnetic; the next squad is already coming.
- Before hazard cycles tighten your route out, not after.
The loot side of AZ3 — hazard-aware routing and the gear gate — is in AZ3 Nuclear Plant loot routes. General extraction principles are in Zero Dam extraction points. Newer players should build the bank on Zero Dam first; the maps overview shows the full difficulty ladder. All exit conditions, timings, and hazard mechanics are patch-sensitive, so confirm the exit you are routing to on the raid map at deploy — hazard timings get retuned, and a route built on last season’s window ends in the open.
