Longbow Ravine Loot Routes: Elevation Plays
Use height to loot Longbow Ravine safely, and adapt routes to the 2.0 river areas that changed how squads rotate.
Longbow Ravine is a mountain map, and mountains decide fights before weapons do. Whoever holds the high ground sees the approach, picks the range, and chooses whether the fight happens at all. The 2.0 revision added another axis: the river areas opened up, changing how squads move between the ridges. Learn both layers and the map becomes readable.
Elevation is the map’s core mechanic
- High ground gives vision, range choice, and retreat options. A squad on a ridge controls the ravine below it.
- Low ground hides you but traps you: you cannot see approaches, and leaving means climbing while exposed.
- Mid-slope is the worst of both — enough height to feel safe, not enough to see. Avoid building loot routes along it.
Zone framework
| Zone | Loot character | Tactical character |
|---|---|---|
| Ridges and high structures | Moderate value, spread | Strongholds — hold one and farm the approaches |
| Ravine floor and paths | Dense transit loot | Kill zones for anyone above you |
| River areas (opened in 2.0) | Water-adjacent loot, new connections | Fast rotation, open exposure |
| Structures and camps | Denser interior loot | Standard building clears |
Route framework
- Ridge route (default). Spawn-side high ground first. Loot while watching the slopes below; disengage downward only into cover.
- Ravine floor route. Fast and loot-dense but dangerous — run it when the ridges are quiet, or when you are broke and need income rather than glory.
- River route (2.0). Use the opened river channels to rotate between areas quickly. Water lines are fast but exposed; the boat rotation page covers the risk side.
- Hold route. Take one strong structure, loot it, and let other squads reveal themselves. Patient, boring, effective.
Movement principles
- Climb before you loot. Reaching height early converts every later fight into one you choose.
- Never silhouette yourself on a skyline; ridges are watched by other ridges.
- Crossing open ground in the ravine is the map’s most common lethal mistake. Watch first, cross once, decisively.
- If you fight from height and win, extract or relocate immediately — you have announced yourself to the whole map.
Loadout notes
Longbow Ravine mixes close interiors with long slope engagements, so a versatile rifle with solid optics earns its slot. Ammo choice still follows penetration against armor — the ammo types guide covers the tiers. Carry healing you can use while moving; mountain fights end in the open.
For fight-or-flight decisions on open slopes, read when to fight or avoid, and compare difficulty against the full ladder in the maps overview. Exit planning matters as much here as on any map — and on this map, the boat rotation page covers how water lines change the way out.
