SMG-45 Best Build in Delta Force: CQB Mobility First
The SMG-45 is a 27m close-quarters submachine gun with the best handling in its class. Build it for mobility, not copied codes.
The SMG-45 knows exactly what it is: a room-clearer. At 35 damage, 605 rpm, a 27m range, and a class-leading Handling 70, it is built to win the fight you start inside a building — and to lose the fight that stays in the open. The build’s only honest goal is to keep it light and fast.
Numbers below are a ranking. The SMG-45’s value is where it sits against a pistol and a rifle at the same range, not where it sits inside the SMG list. Re-measure the SMG-45 against a pistol and a rifle at the same distance, never against the SMG list it already beats.
The problem the SMG-45 gives you
- Range 27m — the shortest band in its class. Past it, you are out of the gun’s world.
- Handling 70 — the best. This is the gun’s identity: move, draw, and reposition faster than the enemy.
- Damage 35 / Control 52 — fine. The recoil is not the issue; the distance is.
- Muzzle velocity 500 — low, reinforcing the close-quarters role.
So the trap is obvious: players who add weight to “improve” the SMG-45 erode the one thing it is for. Build it to stay mobile and let the 27m band do the work.
Slot-by-slot priorities
| Slot | What it buys | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Optics | A fast-pickup red dot for close targets | High |
| Muzzle | Light flash control, avoid heavy recoil add-ons | Medium |
| Grip | Small control if needed, keep it light | Medium |
| Stock | Minimal — protect the 70 handling | Low |
| Magazine | Capacity for pushes; weight matters less here | Low |
The build logic
- Protect the handling. Every heavy part you add moves the gun away from its purpose. Every part has to earn its weight, which is what the modding cost-worth page measures.
- Stay inside 27m. The gun cannot win long. Reposition, use cover, close the gap. The close-quarters guide covers the playstyle.
- Recoil is a minor concern. Control 52 is fine for a 605rpm SMG. Don’t overspend on grips — a fast sight matters more in a doorway.
- Confirm on the wall. Fire ten rounds at a wall before and after each change — SMGs live or die on rounds three and four, so run the drill at the distance you actually fight at. The training ground is the test bench: use the close bay, because testing an SMG at distance tells you nothing you will use.
Where it fits
The SMG-45 is the CQB specialist for players who push. For an assault rifle that reaches further, the CI-19 build or K416 build. Rebuild when SMG handling changes. Damage adjustments do not move the trade this build is built around.
