Training Ground Drills: Daily 10-Minute Plan
Run a repeatable 10-minute warm-up covering recoil, movement, utility, and operator skills.
Ten minutes before your first match is worth more than two hours on a day you never play. The training ground exists so that recoil patterns, movement inputs, and ability timings are muscle memory before they cost you a raid. Use the same ten-minute block every session so progress is measurable.
The 10-minute block
Minutes 0-3 — Recoil control. Fire a full magazine at a wall and watch the pattern climb. Learn where each of your usual guns pulls — vertical, horizontal, or both — and practice the counter-pull until the spray stays on one column. The recoil patterns page explains what the pattern tells you about a weapon.
Minutes 3-5 — Movement. Strafe left and right through a doorway while keeping your crosshair at head height. Add crouch-spray and shoulder-peek motions. The goal is not speed; it is that your movement keys stop requiring conscious thought during fights.
Minutes 5-7 — Utility and abilities. Throw your grenades at fixed targets until the arcs repeat. Activate your operator’s abilities until the input is instant. If you are unsure what an operator does or where they fit, the mode matchups page shows which operators earn their slot in which mode.
Minutes 7-10 — Target switching. Place yourself against several targets at different distances and rotate between them without overcorrecting. This is the closest drill to a real multi-angle fight.
How to measure progress
Track one number per drill — for example, the percentage of a spray that stayed on target, or how many of ten utility throws landed. Two sessions with the same number means the drill is working; a number that drifts down means something in your sensitivity or keybinds changed.
Rules that keep it useful
- Same drills, same order. Variety feels productive and measures nothing.
- Ten minutes, then stop. Fatigue degrades input quality; you are training the pattern, not grinding reps.
- Warm up before raids, not after a losing streak. Emotional sessions produce erratic data.
The training ground is also the right place to test new gear and new binds before they meet other players. Anything you have not rehearsed there is a variable you are adding to a live match. Cooldowns and ability values shift between patches, so confirm current timings in-game when a drill feels off.
