Monument Warfare Map Guide: Layout and Rotation Basics

Scan any Warfare map fast: find the choke points, the high ground, and the vehicle lanes before your first push.

Monument is one of Warfare’s arena-style maps, and this page sticks to a repeatable method rather than a point-by-point walkthrough: the fine layout details are worth confirming in-game rather than trusting a written description that may be out of date. What transfers to any match on Monument is the scan itself.

The two-minute scan

When the map loads, spend the pre-spawn timer on four questions:

  1. Where are the choke points? Look for bridges, gates, corridors, and stairwells — anything where two teams must pass through each other. These are where the first fights happen.
  2. Where is the high ground? Rooftops, balconies, and elevated structures decide mid-range fights. Note which ones overlook the objective.
  3. Where do vehicles go? Wide streets and open plazas are vehicle territory; everything else is infantry territory. If the objective sits on a vehicle lane, expect armor to decide it.
  4. Where are the flanks? Alleys, interior rooms, and side paths that bypass the main lane. A map is only as dangerous as its flanks are secret.

Post your four answers in squad chat before you spawn. Teams that do this win the first engagement on any unfamiliar map more often than teams that spawn immediately and react.

Rotation basics

  • Do not rotate through the middle. The map center is the most watched space on any arena map. Use edges and interiors.
  • Rotate before the point moves, not after. In rotating-objective modes, leaving ten seconds early is better than arriving ten seconds late.
  • One player watches the back. Rotations fail when an enemy follows unnoticed; assign a rear guard every time the squad moves.

Fighting an arena-style map

Arena maps compress the fight, so tempo matters more than stealth:

  • Contact happens fast. Have your gun ready before you turn a corner, every time.
  • Grenades beat peeks. A grenade into a held room ends the fight faster than a door peek war.
  • Deaths are cheap; time is not. Getting back to the fight quickly is more valuable than a slow, careful approach.

What to verify in-game

Exact building names, spawn locations, and which structures can be destroyed change with updates, so check them in the match itself — the two-minute scan above will point you at the right structures regardless. The mode overview explains the objective types you will queue into, the vehicle guide covers armor handling on vehicle lanes, and Akh Canal applies the same scanning method to the other arena-style Warfare map.
