Valorant on Console: No PC Crossplay and Focus Mode
Valorant on PS5 and Xbox has its own pool, a Focus Mode aim-assist layer, and cross-progression of skins and agents — but your PC rank does not carry over.
Valorant on console (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, launched August 2024) is a separate build rebuilt for a controller — not a port. If you’re coming from PC or deciding which version to play, here’s exactly what’s shared, what isn’t, and how aiming works with a gamepad.
No PC-to-console crossplay — by design
Riot keeps PC and console matchmaking completely separate. The reason is competitive fairness: mouse-and-keyboard and controller are too different in a game where precise aiming is everything. There is no toggle to enable it.
What this means in practice:
- PS5 and Xbox players share one console pool and can party up together.
- Console players never face PC players.
- PC players switching to console start a fresh rank placement there — your PC rank means nothing on console.
Using a mouse and keyboard on console is a ban, not a warning — including adapters that spoof a controller. Riot enforces the console-only pool this way.
Cross-progression: your stuff travels, your rank doesn’t
Link your Riot account and almost everything follows you:
- Transfers: account level, Valorant Points, Kingdom Credits, Radianite Points, unlocked Agents, weapon skins and bundles, Battle Pass progress and missions, and all cosmetics.
- Does NOT transfer: your rank and MMR — each platform runs its own Competitive ladder. You can be Diamond on PC and Silver on console; the two are independent. Match history and career stats are also pool-specific.
So buy your skins on PC, equip them on PS5 the same session — but don’t expect your Radiant badge to show up.
Aiming on controller: Focus Mode
The headline console feature is Focus Mode, Riot’s built-in aim-assist layer. By default it’s mapped to the left trigger (L2 / LT) and behaves like hip fire but with reduced sensitivity — letting you make the precise peeks Valorant is known for with a stick. There’s also a subtle aim-assist pull when you hold aim. Classic ADS is available and configurable separately.
Settings to start with (no universal numbers — tune to feel):
- Base sensitivity: turn ~180 degrees with the right stick in one smooth motion without losing control.
- Focus sensitivity: make small head-height corrections without overshooting.
- Test in the Range: since Patch 13.06 you can hop into the Range while queued, so check new values before every match.
Change one value at a time — tweak several at once and you won’t know what helped.
Content parity and availability
New agents, maps, balance patches, and Premium content all launch on every platform at the same time — no console delay. Console was initially released in North America, Europe, Japan, and Brazil, with other regions still limited to PC as of mid-2026.
