ABI Gold Egg: Why the Extract Decides the Value
A gold egg is worth nothing in a raid and everything in your stash. The container rule, the extraction timing, and the one item-text check before you sell
A gold egg is a high-value find with no combat use. Its entire value is realised at one moment: when you extract with it still in your bag. Everything that happens between picking it up and walking out is a risk-management problem, and most players lose the egg inside that window rather than at the point of pickup.
The container rule
The single highest-value action after finding one is getting it into your secure container, because that slot survives death. Everything in your backpack dies with you; everything in the container does not.
This means the decision order is: spot the egg, secure it, then decide whether to keep looting. A player carrying a loose egg through three more buildings has chosen to bet the egg on three more fights they did not need to take.
If your container is full of junk when you find one, that is a mistake made ten minutes earlier. Empty the container of cheap consumables before a raid, not after the good spawn.
The item-text check
Before you sell, read the item text. Some valuables are quest or event inputs, and a trader’s flat price can badly undersell what they are worth to a mission. Selling an item you needed for a barter is a loss that does not show up on the sale screen.
The missions guide lists the objectives that ask for specific valuables, and the secure container guide covers which items deserve the slot first.
Extraction timing
The bag changes the calculus. A player with an empty bag can push a contested POI; a player holding a rare find cannot, because every fight is now a fight for the item rather than for position.
That is the practical rule: when the egg is secured, extract on the first clean window rather than the last. Leave through the route you scouted, not the one that looked busiest, and resist the extra building — a single line of reasoning that has cost more rare items than any squad wipe.
Teams should say it out loud. One player carrying the egg out beats two players dying while arguing about whether to check one more room, and the duo guide covers how to split risk on a run like this.
For the wider picture of which finds justify which risks, the loot priority guide ranks valuables against the cost of the run that produced them.
