ABI How to Level Up Fast: XP Steps and Map Level Unlocks
Story missions plus surviving raids past ten minutes is the fastest XP in ABI. The steps, and what each account level actually unlocks.
Leveling in Arena Breakout: Infinite is not a grind problem. It’s an order-of-operations problem. Do these in this order and the levels come on their own.
1. Push the story missions first
The main mission chain pays more XP per minute than anything else in the game. Early missions alone are worth several raids of scavenging, and they hand you gear while they’re at it.
Ignore the open world until the chain tells you to go somewhere. You will level faster following quest markers than following your instincts.
2. Accept every Contact mission before you drop
Contacts are the vendors in the Contacts tab. Grab every mission they offer before each raid, even the ones you don’t intend to finish.
Most of them are “go here” or “pick this up.” Three of them overlap with one route, and you get paid for all three.
3. Add weekly missions once they unlock
Weeklies open a bit later in the account and pay far more than the daily fare. They also complete passively — you finish them while doing other things, then collect.
Check the tab at the start of every session. Forgetting to collect is the only way to waste one.
4. Stay past ten minutes
Every raid hands you a title at the end. Extract early and you get Fast Raid, with no bonus. Stay in past roughly ten minutes, keep moving, and you get Perfect Raid, which multiplies everything you earned in that run.
That multiplier is the single biggest lever on your XP rate. Rushing the exit is the most common self-inflicted slowdown in the game.
5. Take fights, and aim high
Kills pay, and player kills pay about double what an AI does. Headshots pay again on top of that. You don’t need to hunt people, but clearing AI with headshots on the way to an objective adds up fast.
Looting, healing and searching pay small amounts too. Real, but small.
6. Extract. Every time.
Dying cancels most of a raid’s XP. The kills still counted while you were alive, but the survival multiplier and the extraction bonus are gone, and so is your kit.
If your pack is full and the raid timer is healthy, leave. Greed is not a leveling strategy.
7. Use Covert Ops when the stash is thin
Covert Ops drops you in with free gear and costs you nothing when you die. It’s the answer to a broke account, and mission progress still counts.
The PvE practice modes guide covers where it fits.
What leveling actually unlocks
Maps open in a rough order: Farm first, then Valley, then Northridge, then the harder indoor maps. Contacts, the market, the gunsmith and Covert Ops all arrive at their own levels along the way.
The difficulty tiers gate harder than the maps do. Normal opens early, Lockdown later, and Forbidden later still — check the map select screen for the exact gate on your account, because patches have moved these numbers before.
The account cap is level 30, and it comes faster than most people expect. Seasonal progression resets; your account level, Koen and stash do not.
Start with the beginners guide if the menus are still confusing, and read Normal vs Lockdown vs Forbidden before you unlock the higher tiers. The best maps for beginners tells you where to spend those early levels.
