ABI Best Mastery Points: How to Spend All 12

Every operator gets 12 Mastery Points, respec is free. Stop hunting a permanent build and learn which six actives match the raid you are about to queue.

There is no single best Mastery build. You get twelve points, resetting is free and instant outside raids, so the best build is the one matching the raid in front of you.

That is the answer most search results refuse to give you. Here is the part they get wrong instead.

The numbers you can plan around

  • Twelve points, maximum. Six by default, three at character level 19, three at level 26. No consumable, no store purchase, no grind adds more.
  • Each Mastery goes to level 3. Same passive, stronger version.
  • Six active at once, tops. Twelve points across six slots means a real choice: wide nodes at low levels, or fewer maxed out.
  • Three paths, mixed freely. Combat, Survival, Support. There is no forced single tree.
  • Passive. Once upgraded they run on their own. Nothing to activate, nothing to remember mid-fight.
  • Two exceptions. Masteries do not apply in Arena Mode or Covert Ops. Everywhere else they are live.
  • Nothing wipes them. They come from character level, which survives season resets.

You also get free intel from this: the team page and the end-of-raid results screen show what Masteries your enemies were running. If a squad wiped you, check whether they had leaned into survival before assuming you just got out-aimed.

Your first six points, before level 19

Playing to get out alive — which most people should be — put them where they widen your margin of error. The search-speed nodes in Support are underrated: less time crouched over a container means less time being third-partied, and third parties kill more players than anything else in this genre. Pair that with whatever improves healing throughput.

Practising PvP? Nodes that keep you functional during a trade. Community write-ups consistently rate three: one for faster leaning and recentring so peeks cost you less exposure, one for reducing aim disruption when you take hits, one for faster magazines and reloads. Together they address the three ways proactive fights go wrong. Names and values shift between seasons, so read the current tooltips rather than memorising old labels.

Planning around heavy armour? Look for the Support node that offsets the movement penalty. Repeated rotations across a big map? The stamina option. There is no correct pick — only one that matches your plan.

Stop hunting a permanent build

Reset takes no time, has no cooldown, refunds everything. Your allocation is not a commitment, it is gear you adjust between raids, like swapping mags.

So: map, weapon, squad job, then respec. Forty seconds before you queue, not four.

Three mistakes worth avoiding

Treating Masteries as a replacement for fundamentals. They widen margins. They do not fix pushing into a covered angle with ammo that cannot penetrate the armour in front of you. Read what Morefun’s own framing was — higher survival odds and better margins, not superpowers.

Calling it the “Talent System.” No official material uses that name. Guides that do usually carry invented point totals too; if someone claims you can grind past twelve, they made it up.

Grinding for Mastery Points specifically. They arrive with your character level, so the only way to get them faster is to level faster. Nothing else moves the bar.

Lastly: results improve from better decisions, not better nodes. Spend ten minutes reviewing the mistakes players repeat most before worrying about the fourth point in your sixth node.
