How to Heal Teammates in BF6: Support Healing Explained

Support heals with the Supply Bag, not a medkit. What actually counts as healing, why no score pop-up shows, and how the 5,000 HP challenge tracks.

You heal teammates in Battlefield 6 by dropping a Supply Bag while playing Support. There is no medkit and no heal button, which is why half the player base assumes healing is broken.

The answer in four lines

  • Play Support. The Supply Bag is its signature gadget, unlocked from the start.
  • Throw it at hurt allies. That’s X on PC by default, up on the D-pad on console.
  • Anyone near it regenerates faster than normal, and picks up ammo too.
  • A downed teammate needs the defibrillator, not the bag.

If neither button does anything, check your infantry keybinds — they’re rebindable.

Why it feels like nothing happens

BF6 shows you a resupply notification but never a heal notification. You get no “+healing” score event, so the bag looks inert.

It isn’t. Track the Support healing challenge and you’ll watch the number climb whenever an injured ally walks through it.

Two more quirks. Bags can be picked back up and moved, and they respawn after a short cooldown if an enemy destroys one. Two Supports dropping bags on the same patch of ground don’t stack — you’re wasting one.

Revives are a different job

Support carries the Defibrillator from the start. Hold to charge it. A full charge brings them back with more health than a quick tap. The charge breaks if you drift too far or get shot mid-animation.

You don’t need to be Support to help, either. Any class can drag a downed squadmate with the interact key. Hauling them behind cover before the medic arrives is often what saves the ticket.

The 5,000 HP challenge

Support’s first class challenge is healing teammates for 5,000 health. Clear it and you unlock the M320A1 SMK smoke launcher, which opens the Fire Support path.

What players have pinned down about the tracking:

  • Healing yourself doesn’t count toward it.
  • Healing an ally’s self-inflicted damage doesn’t either — a friend nading their own feet is wasted progress.
  • Fall damage does count, which is why people farm it off ledges with a buddy.
  • Some players report the tracker stalling outright. It’s worth checking whether yours moves at all before you grind.

The clean honest route: tap-revive someone so they come back hurt, then let the bag top them off. That’s real progress and real teamwork in one action.

Where to actually stand

Drop bags where people already are — behind cover on an objective, at a chokepoint, at the tail of a push. Never run across open ground to deliver one.

Support also has a trait that lets squadmates pull health and ammo straight off your body, so simply standing near your squad counts as healing. Full role breakdown sits in the classes guide. If you want guns that hold a lane while you heal, check the weapon tier list.
