Destiny 2 Warlord's Ruin dungeon guide and loot
Tips for your first clears of Destiny 2's Warlord's Ruin dungeon: what to expect from each encounter and how to gear up for Rhulk.
Your fireteam wipes to Rhulk’s final stand, the run falls apart, and everyone points at the boss. Warlord’s Ruin punishes sloppy movement more than any single mechanic. The fix usually starts long before you reach the last arena.
What Warlord’s Ruin is
Warlord’s Ruin is a three-player dungeon added during Season of the Wish. The run drops you into Hive territory inside a sunken ruin. You push through waves of adds and end with a rematch against Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness. It sits on the same tier as the game’s other dungeons, with dungeon-level mechanics rather than raid-scale puzzles.
The dungeon has a fixed loot pool and a short run time. That makes it a good weekly stop once you learn the route.
What to expect from each encounter
The dungeon builds in stages. Early on, you clear Hive adds and push through chasm sections. The middle fights mix add-clear with arena battles where enemies spawn from several angles at once. Rhulk closes the run with heavy melee slams and projectile attacks. Stay mobile and call out adds. Save your super for the damage phase.
The whole run rewards add-clear more than single-target damage. Bring supers and abilities that handle groups, and keep a weapon for each shield type. Teams that ignore add-clear tend to run out of ammo before the boss.
Loot and rewards
The dungeon drops its own weapons and the standard dungeon armor set. The shotgun Just in Case is the standout for many players. Everything comes at the end of a clear, so a full run always moves your collection forward. Check the dungeon loot in-game before you farm one specific piece.
Master difficulty adds modifiers and better material rewards. Run normal first, then move up once the route feels easy.
Tips for your first clear
Use a fireteam finder if you do not have a regular group. The LFG guide covers how to post and what to look for in teammates. Communication matters more here than perfect loadouts.
Learn the jump sections and the chest locations before you farm. The dungeons guide explains how dungeon tiers and rewards work across the game.
