Delta Force Polaris Patrol: Identities, Points, Crates

Choose an identity, bank Performance Points each match, and learn which Director's Crates justify the risk.

Polaris Patrol is a Space City mode built around one decision made before the fighting starts: your identity. You pick between Desmoulins and Adjutant, drop into Space City, play the match under your identity’s framing, and leave with whatever Performance Points and loot you can carry out. Director’s Crates are the top-tier containers here, and they are the reason most players take risks.

Choosing an identity

The identity screen shows what each side offers — starting conditions, scoring, and what the identity rewards — before you lock in. Read it every time; the balance between Desmoulins and Adjutant can be tuned between versions, so treat last version’s assumptions as unverified.

Use these questions when the choice is not obvious:

QuestionIf yesIf no
Does your gear level favor fighting other players?Take the identity that pushes you toward contested objectivesTake the identity with more breathing room
Are you chasing Performance Points or loot?Pick the identity whose scoring matches your goalPick the safer scoring path and farm it
Playing solo or with a squad?Squad: match identities so you can support each otherSolo: pick the identity that survives mistakes

The exact differences between the two identities, including any scoring or kit advantages, are shown on the identity screen, which is the only source worth trusting for them — third-party summaries tend to describe one build of the mode.

Performance Points

Performance Points are the mode’s score. You accumulate them during the match, and they are what the mode’s progression and rewards track. More points come from playing the objectives your identity rewards — engagements, control, or survival — so decide at the start whether your match plan is aggressive or quiet, and commit to it. What a given point total unlocks changes between versions, so plan around the points you can earn per match rather than around the top of the track.

Director’s Crates and red collectibles

Director’s Crates are the highest-tier containers on the Space City roster. They can contain red collectibles, the rarest rarity tier in the game, and the mode’s collectible pool also includes a Medal of Honor. Drop tables and rates are not published, so value a crate by its floor rather than its ceiling — the red-tier collectible is the reason to open it, not the expected outcome.

Treat every crate as a player magnet:

  1. Assume other players are already moving toward it.
  2. Bring the gear you are willing to lose; do not bring your raid kit.
  3. Clear the area, or let the first fight finish and take the winner’s leftovers.
  4. Plan your extract route before you open the crate, not after.

Space City’s layout and loot logic are covered in the Space City loot routes page, and the limited modes framework explains the design patterns Polaris Patrol shares with other event playlists. If a crate run drains your stash, the recovery plan gets you back to a stable kit.
