Cracked Warfare Map Guide: Rooftops and Wide Streets
Use rooftop lines, ruined interiors, and armored streets as three separate lanes with their own rules.
Cracked is a desert town built on three movement planes: rooftops, ruined building interiors, and wide streets that carry vehicles. Most teams lose because they fight every plane the same way — crouched through doorways while an enemy rifle watches from above, or holding a street that a tank can simply drive down. Assign each plane a job.
The three lanes
| Plane | Who owns it | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| Rooftops | Recon and long-range infantry | Move roof to roof, never cross the open skyline; drop onto objectives from behind |
| Interiors | Assault and Support with short-range guns | Clear room by room, use doorways as cover, watch stairwells |
| Streets | Vehicle crews with infantry escort | Do not drive solo; a tank without escorts dies to rocket infantry in alleys |
Reading the rooftops
The high plane is the strongest position on Cracked and the easiest to lose. Two principles:
- Never silhouette. Moving across an open rooftop edge exposes you to every street and interior at once. Travel along the low side of the roofline and only expose yourself when you have a target.
- Roof access is a shared resource. If your whole team is upstairs, nobody is contesting the objective at ground level. Keep at most two players on the roofs unless the plan is a deliberate overwatch.
Fighting in the ruins
Interiors reward patience. Doorways and broken walls create natural one-way cover: you can shoot out, but incoming fire hits the frame.
- Pre-aim corners instead of clearing blindly — most interior deaths come from walking into a held doorway.
- Use grenades through windows before entering; a frag or two clears more efficiently than a peek war.
- Stairwells are death traps. Watch them from the side, not the front.
Streets and vehicles
The wide avenues let tanks and armored cars control long lanes, but they also mean exposed flanks. Infantry should move along building edges where vehicles cannot see them, and assault the alleys to strip enemy infantry off friendly armor. If you spawn a vehicle and see no infantry moving with you, slow down and wait for them.
Choosing your spawn role
Before you spawn, look at where your squad is going. If the plan is rooftop overwatch, bring a marksman rifle and stay off the skyline. If the plan is the objective push, bring something short and stay with the group. The infantry classes page breaks down which class fits each plane, and the vehicle guide covers crew discipline for the streets.
