Cyclone Warfare Map Guide: Land, Sea, and Air
Chain beachhead clears, water crossings, and air superiority into one plan instead of three separate fights.
Cyclone is the Warfare map that uses all three domains: an amphibious beachhead, open water where boats and amphibious vehicles move, and airspace where helicopters contest the sky. Matches are usually lost by teams that treat these as separate games — a squad that wins the beach but ignores the water loses its flank, and a squad that wins the water but never contests the air gets rocketed from above.
Domain 1: the beachhead
The landing works like any amphibious assault, with one addition: helicopter noise makes it hard to hear footsteps.
- Land in spread groups, not one boat cluster.
- Take the first cover line, then stop and regroup before pushing.
- Keep one player watching the water for the second landing wave.
Domain 2: the water
Water is the map’s main flank route. Assault boats and amphibious vehicles can move infantry around the enemy’s land positions, but they are fragile — concentrated fire from the shore sinks them quickly.
Rules for water movement:
- Never cross alone. Boats travel in pairs so one can suppress while the other lands.
- Land at cover, not at the objective. Take a shoreline position with cover first, then walk to the objective from there.
- Use the water to flank, not to hold. Holding water achieves nothing; landing behind the enemy is what wins.
Domain 3: the air
Helicopters decide who can move across the open middle of the map. A helicopter that survives five minutes shapes the whole match; one that dies in the first minute feeds the enemy team.
- Fly low between cover pieces and land to rearm rather than hovering in the open.
- If you are infantry and enemy air is active, stay near structures and keep spacing — a rocket into a cluster is the worst outcome.
- If your team has no aircraft, at least keep one player with anti-vehicle tools watching the sky.
Domain assignment table
| Domain | Primary job | Who should be there |
|---|---|---|
| Beachhead | Establish and hold the first cover line | Assault and Support infantry |
| Water | Flank landings, boat escorts | Vehicle crews with infantry passengers |
| Air | Suppress objectives, destroy enemy vehicles | Helicopter crews with a second ship for support |
| Rear | Repair vehicles, reinforce whichever domain is losing | Engineer |
The vehicle guide covers boat and helicopter handling, Threshold is the other landing-focused map, and the mode overview explains how objectives tie the three domains together.
