Threshold Warfare Map Guide: Port Beach and Sea Wall

Cross the beach, hold the sea wall, and swing the dual-lane roads with armor before the flank closes.

Threshold is a port map where the attack starts in the water and the decisive ground is a sea wall with two wide roads behind it. Teams that treat the landing as a simple walk onto the beach lose half their numbers before reaching cover. The map rewards boats, armor, and patience in that order.

Phase 1: the landing

The water approach is the most dangerous part of the map. Assault boats and amphibious vehicles move fast but offer little protection; anything shooting from the shore hits you while you are still exposed.

  • Do not land at the same point as the rest of the boats. Spread landings force defenders to split fire.
  • Treat the run from waterline to first cover as a sprint with smoke, not a jog in the open.
  • Once the first cover line is taken, stop. Regroup behind it before advancing — the second push is where squads get wiped.

Phase 2: the sea wall

The wall itself is a chokepoint with limited crossings. Defenders who sit on top of it control the beach with grenades and rifles; attackers need either a crossing under smoke or a flank along the wall’s edge.

Hold rules for defenders:

  1. Keep players spread along the wall, not bunched — one grenade into a cluster clears three players.
  2. Keep one player watching the water approach so the landing is spotted before it reaches cover.
  3. When a crossing falls, fall back to the road junction rather than fighting to retake the wall from the beach side.

Phase 3: the dual-lane roads

Behind the wall, two wide lanes run inland and give armor room to maneuver. This is where the match usually turns: the team that gets tanks and armored cars working together on these lanes can push the objective even against equal infantry.

  • Move armor in pairs so one vehicle can cover the other’s repair.
  • Infantry should stay off the lane centers — walk the edges and clear alleys where enemy anti-vehicle players wait.
  • If the enemy holds both lanes with tanks, do not feed infantry into them; bring your own armor or flank through the port buildings between the lanes.

Water-vehicle handling is covered in the vehicle guide; the overall round structure is in the mode overview; and Cyclone is the other Warfare map where the water approach decides the match.
