Fault Warfare Map Guide: Layout and Rotation Basics

Approach a new Warfare map with a repeatable scan: chokes, heights, cover density, and vehicle access.

Fault is a Warfare map whose interior layout details are best confirmed in the match itself, so this page teaches the reading method instead of a fixed route. The method works on Fault and on every future Warfare map, which makes it worth learning once.

The four-question scan

Run this scan during the pre-spawn timer and share answers with your squad:

  1. Chokes — where must both teams funnel through each other? Bridges, gates, doors, and stairwells are where fights start.
  2. Heights — what can shoot down onto the objective or the main lane? Whoever holds those positions controls the tempo.
  3. Cover density — is the map open (long guns, vehicles, spacing) or dense (short guns, smoke, pairs)? This decides your loadout more than any guide.
  4. Vehicle access — which lanes are wide enough for armor, and where will vehicles stall? If armor cannot reach the objective, infantry decides it.

Turning the scan into a spawn choice

Use a simple decision rule:

  • If your team lacks a vehicle and the map has vehicle lanes, spawn one or escort a teammate who does.
  • If the objective sits under high ground, plan to smoke or flank the height rather than push under it.
  • If cover is dense, bring a short-range weapon and commit to the interiors; if cover is sparse, bring a rifle and hold the lanes with spacing.

Rotation rules that never expire

  • Rotate along edges, never across the center.
  • Leave early on rotating objectives.
  • Keep one player facing backward while the squad moves.
  • Reset as a group; a trickle of solo players after a failed push feeds the enemy.

Fighting on unfamiliar ground

Unfamiliar maps punish two habits: rushing the unknown and freezing in the open. The fix is a simple loop — advance to the next cover piece, stop, listen, check the next piece, repeat. You move slower than a rushing enemy but arrive with information, and information wins interior fights.

If you keep dying to the same angle, mark it for the squad and approach it differently next life; over two or three lives you will have the local geometry memorized.

The mode overview covers objective types, the infantry classes page helps you convert the scan into a spawn pick, and the vehicle guide explains how armor uses wide lanes on maps like this one.
