Zero Dam Extraction Points: How to Find Them
Find your way out of Zero Dam by learning how extraction points activate, how to locate them mid-raid, and how to time your exit.
Extraction is the only scoreboard in Hazard Operations: loot you cannot carry out is loot you donated to the next player. Zero Dam offers several ways out, and the skill is not memorizing coordinates — it is knowing how to find, read, and time an extraction under pressure.
How extraction points work
Extraction points in Hazard Operations come in a few archetypes:
- Always-available exits. Open for the whole raid. The safest option, which is exactly why they attract campers.
- Conditional exits. Unlock after an action, a timer, or an item. The specifics vary by map and season, so open the raid map at deploy and read the exits there — the route that worked last week may now be a different exit entirely.
- Transient exits. Appear or move as the raid progresses. Treat their location as information, not a guarantee.
Zero Dam mixes these types. Your job at spawn is to identify which exits exist, roughly where they sit, and what condition each one carries.
How to find an extraction mid-raid
- Open the map at spawn and mark the nearest two exits plus one far backup.
- Read the terrain: exits tend to sit on map edges, near water, roads, or structures — places a helicopter or boat can plausibly reach.
- Follow sound. An extraction in use announces itself with vehicle noise and gunfire.
- Split vision with your squad: one player watches the exfil approach, one watches behind.
- When lost, move toward the map border and listen — most exits funnel traffic toward the perimeter.
Timing rules that survive every patch
- Decide your exit before you loot, not after. A pre-chosen exit converts panic into a route.
- Leave after loud nearby fights die down, not during them — the third squad cleans up the winners.
- If two squads are camping an always-open exit, take a farther conditional one instead of trading for it.
- Start moving to extraction while you still have healing. A gunfight on the exfil pad is the most common late-raid death.
Risk grading your exit choice
| Choice | Risk | When it is right |
|---|---|---|
| Nearest always-open exit | Medium — campers | Quiet map, early raid |
| Far conditional exit | Medium-high — travel exposure | Hot core, full bag |
| Extract right after a won fight | Low | You do not need more loot |
| Wait for “one more room” | High | Never — this is the classic beginner mistake |
The common mistakes list covers the no-exit-plan death in detail. If you are still learning the loop, read Zero Dam loot routes and the first-raid checklist first. Extraction mechanics and map availability change between seasons — verify current conditions in-game.
