Phasmophobia Voodoo Doll: Pins, Odds and the Heart
The Voodoo Doll forces a ghost interaction with each pin, but the heart pin starts a cursed hunt. Here is the risk maths and when the doll is worth using.
The Voodoo Doll is a gamble dressed as a tool. Each pin you push forces the ghost to do something — interact with equipment, throw an object, open a door — but one specific pin triggers a cursed hunt.
What it does
The doll has a set of pins (ten in the current build). Pushing a pin forces a random interaction near the ghost, which is useful when you need activity for interaction-based evidence or objectives. The effects are not chosen by you; the doll picks.
The risk
One pin is the heart pin, and pushing it starts a cursed hunt automatically. Since pins are selected at random, every push raises the chance the next one is the heart. Treat the doll as a slot machine where one outcome kills the run.
How to use it
- Use it when you need to force activity in or near the ghost room, not as a safe information tool.
- Have your tools positioned to read whatever the interaction produces.
- Stop early. Every push compounds the heart-pin risk, so do not empty the doll “just in case.”
- Keep a hiding spot and smudge ready before the first push.
Best use case and mistake to avoid
Best for forcing a stubborn ghost to interact when evidence is stalling. The mistake is treating it like a free interaction generator — it is much less controlled than the Ouija Board or Haunted Mirror. If your sanity is already low, a cursed hunt from the heart pin can end the contract.
Reading the interaction it produces
Each successful pin produces a specific type of interaction rather than a random one, so watch what happens: an object thrown, a door opened, or equipment disturbed. That lets you aim the doll at the evidence you still need — if you are missing fingerprints on a door, a pin that opens a door is the outcome you want. Coordinate so a teammate is positioned to read the result with EMF or UV before the ghost settles again.
