STALKER 2 Patch 1.4: The Quest-Fix Update

The confirmed quest fixes

Multiple published 1.4 patch-note translations (Taiwan and Chinese gaming outlets) list these specific quest fixes:

• A Needle in a Haystack — selling Squint’s artifact no longer blocks the conversation.
• The Edge — no longer starts incorrectly when all Zalissya stalkers are dead.
• Hot on the Trail — Dubniy is now speakable.
• Vision of Truth — Scar appears at the secret entrance after X17; the X17 elevator return lock is gone.
• Last Wish — the pod cutscene no longer traps you with Richter.
• Legend of the Zone — Roosevelt is now speakable.
• Law and Order — the helipad objective now ends.
• Like Old Times — the Noon Base door is no longer locked; the emission shelter works after save/load.
• The Bitter Truth, Call of Fire, All That Remains, The Boundary — various “cannot complete” blockers resolved, including missing Richter and tunnel re-entry.

What this means for you

If your blocked quest is on this list and you are on a current build — the game is now on version 2.0 from August 2026 — the bug is almost certainly gone. A recurrence usually means a pre-1.4 save carried forward or a modded script, not the base game. The realistic fix is to reload an earlier save.

The exception

Not every softlock was fixed here. The famous Wishful Thinking block was not clearly listed in the 1.4 notes we reviewed, so we do not claim a clean fix version for it.
