STALKER 2 'Wishful Thinking': Dalin Won't Spawn

What triggers it

The block typically appears around the SIRCAA stretch of the main story. Players report the objective telling them to talk to Dalin again (a duplicate objective) and the game “bricking” progress, or Zotov’s dialogue starting and freezing with no escape. It was a widespread launch-era report (numerous Steam threads from December 2024) and is the clearest example of why the quest diagnostic framework exists.

PC path: console command workaround

PC players can open the developer console and force the quest forward. The command community members used is XStartQuestBySID E06_MQ02 to continue past the Dalin repeat, and node commands such as XStartQuestNodeBySID E06_MQ02_TeleportCharacter_ZotovToMonolith to spawn Zotov when he is missing. Treat these as a last resort, not a recommendation: forcing quest state can skip story beats and corrupt later objectives, and they only work on PC. If you go this route, back up your save first.

Console path: reload

Xbox and PlayStation have no console (see the host blind-spot page). The console-safe recovery that players report working is to reload a save from before you entered SIRCAA with zero side quests active — a side-quest conflict during the SIRCAA sequence is a common cause of the freeze. If you do not have such a save, roll back as far as you can and replay the segment clean.

Has it been patched?

Unlike the quests named on the 1.4 fix list, this specific E06_MQ02 block was not clearly listed in the May 2025 patch notes we reviewed, so we do not assert a clean fix version. If you are on version 2.0 and still hit it, it is most likely a corrupted older save rather than the current base game, and the reload path above is your best move.
