THE FINALS Zoom Sensitivity Multiplier: How to Set It
Fix scoped aim that whips or crawls by setting your zoom sensitivity multiplier near 1.0, then test on the range to match your base feel.
Your scoped shots feel wrong. You either whip past the target or crawl too slow to track it. The culprit is usually the zoom sensitivity multiplier, the setting that scales your aim speed when you aim down sights or use a scope.
THE FINALS lets you set this separately from your base mouse or stick sensitivity. The goal is consistency: your crosshair should move the same relative distance whether you are hip-firing or zoomed. Most players keep the multiplier at or near 1.0, because that preserves the muscle memory built from their normal sensitivity.
Why 1.0 preserves hip-fire muscle memory
Going too high makes zoomed aim twitchy. A small mouse movement sends the reticle flying, so you overshoot headshots on scoped weapons. Going too low makes tracking impossible, since enemies cross your view faster than your slowed aim can follow. Neither extreme helps.
Testing the slider in the practice range
Set the multiplier to match your base feel, then test it. The in-game label and default value can shift between updates, so confirm the exact slider in your settings menu. Take a scoped weapon into the practice range and track a moving target. If you consistently overcorrect, drop the multiplier a notch; if you lag behind, raise it.
A good starting point is 1.0 for controller and 0.9 to 1.1 for mouse, then nudge in small steps during range practice. Treat the zoom multiplier as fine-tuning rather than a fix for a weak base sensitivity; set your base sens first, then dial in zoom.
Right-stick zoom on console
Console players should apply the same logic to right-stick aim, since the same multiplier governs scoped turning. For deeper tuning, read the best settings for FPS and the console settings guide. If your changes ever vanish, the settings keep resetting guide explains the cause. Match the zoom multiplier to your base sensitivity and your aim will feel the same at every zoom level.
