Valorant Haven Map Guide: Three Sites, Callouts, and How to Play

Haven was the first Valorant map to break the two-site formula, and everything about how it plays follows from that one decision. If you defend Haven like a normal map, you will lose rounds you should win.

What Makes Haven Different: A Third Site

Haven has three spike sites — A, B, and C — instead of the usual two. Notably, this does not increase the number of ultimate orbs: Haven still has two, located at A Long and C Long (Dragon).

The strategic consequence is severe for defenders. Three sites with five players means you cannot hold all of them, so defense on Haven is a constant exercise in choosing which site to give up. That is what makes Haven the most attacker-sided map in most players’ experience, and the reason the map rewards information above all else.

Key Areas and Callouts

A Site is reached through A Long and A Short, with Heaven (the raised platform) being the single most contested position on the map.

B Site is the middle site, reached through Mid and Garage — Garage is a long, dangerous corridor that connects mid to B and is where a huge share of Haven rounds are decided.

C Site is reached through C Long and Window, with the Dragon statue area marking the long push.

Because there are three sites, defenders must communicate which one they are conceding. Silence on Haven is how teams lose a site without a fight.

How to Attack Haven

Do not commit to a site until you know where the defenders are not. The correct attacking pattern is to show presence in two lanes, read the rotate, then execute on the site that went quiet. Fakes are dramatically stronger here than on two-site maps, because defenders have three places to worry about and only five bodies.

Once you pick the site, commit with numbers. The biggest attacking error on Haven is splitting three ways and losing every individual fight. If you are setting up a proper execute, our utility basics guide covers how to time smokes with an entry.

How to Defend Haven

Accept that you will give up a site. The standard approach is to stack two sites and play retake on the third, or to put an information agent on the conceded site so you know the moment it is attacked.

Garage control matters more than any other single fight on the map, because it connects mid to B and lets defenders rotate between sites quickly. A team that loses Garage loses its ability to reinforce.

Information agents are the strongest picks here. Cypher and Killjoy can each cover a site alone while the rest of the team stacks, and Sova reveals which of the three sites is actually being hit.

Common Mistakes on Haven

  • Spreading players evenly across three sites — the worst possible setup.
  • Not calling which site is being conceded.
  • Over-rotating on the first sound, which is what a two-lane fake is designed to trigger.
  • Fighting for Garage without utility and dying for free.

Good Agents on Haven

Because defense is stretched, agents who generate information independently are worth more here than anywhere else. Pair one sentinel who can babysit a site with a controller who can smoke two lanes at once — Brimstone and Omen both fit.
