Best Sniper Rifle in Apex: Kraber, Sentinel, Longbow

Apex snipers compared: the care-package Kraber, the reliable ground Sentinel, and the fast Longbow. Which to grab and which maps they win.

Snipers in Apex are a lane-control tool, not a default pick. They win on open maps and lose hard in tight city fights. Here is the real shortlist.

Kraber (.50-Cal) — the care-package king

The highest raw damage in the game, with one-shot potential on a clean headshot. The catch: it only appears in the care package, so you can’t plan around it. Use it to delete a final-circle anchor, then drop it when the fight closes.

Sentinel — the best ground sniper

Charges a shot for bonus damage and is otherwise a dependable single-shot rifle. It rewards pre-aiming angles and punishes anyone peeking. If you want a sniper you can actually find and trust, this is it.

Longbow — the rate-of-fire tagger

Uses AR ammo, fires faster than the Sentinel, and lower damage per shot. Best for “tagging” enemies at range to feed your team info and chip, not for clean one-shots. Versatile because the ammo is everywhere.

30-30 Repeater & Charge Rifle

  • 30-30 is now a care-package weapon (see the care package guide) — a charge-shot marksman that bridges sniper and rifle.
  • Charge Rifle is a beam that charges; great for long-range chip but telegraphs and struggles up close.

Which map, which sniper

Snipers shine on Storm Point (open, vehicles) and the lanes between World’s Edge POIs (see landing spots). They’re a liability in E-District’s dense city fights, where SMGs and shotguns rule.

The decision

For a planned loadout, run the Sentinel (reliable, findable) or Longbow (fire rate, common ammo). Hold a Kraber only when the care package drops one and the circle is open. Don’t force a sniper into a close map — switch to an SMG.
